Psycho For Love: Carolyn Gloria Blanton aka Jane Lynn Woodry killed & dismembered her boyfriend, Peter Michael Green but was found not guilty by reason of insanity

Carolyn Gloria Blanton aka Jane Lynn Woodry has been released from the State Hospital. I believe it was in 2009. Sadly, all I can find is stuff on her. Nothing on the victim, Peter Michael Green. Barely a word except about him being dismembered and then some of his body eaten by the killer. This saddens me as he deserves to be remembered.

Monsters Among Us: Brian David Steckel *The Driftwood Killer* raped and killed Sandra Lee Long then set her bed on fire; He also confessed to at least 2 other murders – Executed 11/4/2005

Victims
Sandra Lee Long, 29
Frances Mary Kiefer, 44 [confessed to]

Brian Steckel was a despicable excuse for a human being. He raped and killed Sandra Lee Long, then set the bed she was on on fire. She actually died of smoke inhalation. During his trial, he sent a copy of her autopsy report to her mother, with a note saying, “Read it and weep. She’s gone forever. Don’t cry over burnt flesh.” During his trial, mind you. And there were death penalty opponents who thought he could do some good if he was allowed to live. But of course, none of those people said anything about Sandra Lee Long and what she suffered. What her loved ones continue to suffer to this day. Sometimes punishment just needs to be punishment. Not something to hope he can make good. He proved that he was not a good person and he even said several times that he deserved the death penalty.

While he was in prison he also mailed confessions to another murder [Frances Kiefer, a neighbor] but nothing has come of it that I am aware of. I am still including her as a victim of his, since he willingly and voluntarily confessed to her murder.

Final Words: “I want to say I’m sorry for the cruel things I did. I’m not the same man I was when I came to jail. I changed. I’m a better man…I walked in here without a fight and I accept my punishment. It is time to go. I love you people.” He told his cousin and a friend, who were witnesses at his execution, to tell his 12 year old daughter, “I said no excuses.”

Crime Watch Daily: Elizabeth Smart Discusses Contemplating Suicide During her Abduction

CRIME WATCH DAILY WITH CHRIS HANSEN” EXCLUSIVE
ELIZABETH SMART REVEALS DETAILS ABOUT HER HARROWING ABDUCTION AND ORDEAL

In an Emotional Interview with Sexual-Assault Survivor and Victim Advocate Daisy Coleman, Elizabeth Smart Reveals Her Own Personal Struggles During Her Time in Captivity

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (September 13, 2017) — Crime Watch Daily with Chris Hansen special correspondent Elizabeth Smart makes a revelation about her time in captivity when she sits down with fellow sexual-assault survivor and victim advocate Daisy Coleman in an emotional and intimate interview. “For me, because I grew up in a very conservative Christian neighborhood, the first time I was raped I remember feeling devastated. I felt like it would be better to be dead than to continue living being a rape victim, being a rape survivor…I felt in that moment if there had been an easy way out, I probably would have taken it,” Smart reveals. Daisy also describes how incessant bullying impacted how she coped with her trauma. “The bullying was really intense because it didn’t just end at school…when I would go home, it would be all over the internet. These people are able to say a lot crueler of things because it’s such a dehumanized way of speaking…because you’re talking to a computer screen and not a real person, but a real person is receiving that message…a lot of things affected how I looked at myself and my idea of self-worth,” describes Coleman. “It’s so ridiculous when you see anything on the news and some people’s first comments are questions like ‘What was she wearing? What was she doing?’…It doesn’t matter. It literally doesn’t matter if you are dancing around naked completely drunk. Nobody has the right to hurt you,” adds Smart. Smart also describes the confusing experience she was subjected to after her rescue. “Nobody told me what was going on. One second I was being reunited with my parents, the next second I was being questioned, the next second, they take me up to the hospital that then they’re like, ‘Oh, take off your clothes. Oh, let’s do this kit on you.’ Nobody was really telling me anything and I remember when they were doing the rape kit, I just remember thinking, ‘What’s going on?’” To help other survivors, Daisy and her two friends, who are survivors themselves, along with her brother started a support group called “Safe Bae,” whose mission is to raise awareness about sexual assault in middle and high schools and students’ rights under Title IX.
