I thought that nothing could shock or bother me in this case anymore. However, this has truly bothered me. In fact, I can’t stop crying either. This little girl only wanted love and to be taken care of from her mother. It boggles my mind how a mother could do this. And it seems like it only gets worse. However, it appears that the duct tape evidence may have been tainted. That is too bad. But I think the other evidence can stand for itself. The one thing I want is justice, which means that Casey must get a fair trial. Then onto execution!!! 🙂

Today is National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims

Please take some time today to remember those who have been taken from us by murder, whether you know them or not, high profile or not. Every victim, old or young, known or unknown, solved or unsolved murders, needs to be remembered, always. One thing to remember, “murder” covers many things, including neglient homicide, medical neglience that leads to death, vehicular manslaughter, DUI deaths, and so on and so on. If the death certificate states homicide, to the victims and their loved ones, it is still murder. Even justifiable homicide cases. It does not change the fact that the victim still died. Murder does not have to be violent, with a gun, knife, etc. ( However, I DO NOT include executions on this, as those are deaths as a result of court imposed punishment. Those who are executed created murder victims as a result of their own actions/crimes.)

If you like, please leave a comment about someone you know, a loved one, someone in your community, or any other murder victim that you want to remember. If you have a video that you want people to see, post it! For me, my blog pretty much covers this! But for me, today I think of my mother who was killed in June 1975, before I got to even meet her. She is in my thoughts and my heart today, just wishing she were here to share my life with, to get to know her granddaughter and now great-grandson. She has missed all of that, she missed my wedding day. She missed my high school graduation. Everything. And not by her choice. And I do miss her. If I had a picture to post, I would.  The one I posted, reminds me of her.

I will be adding comments with videos and links to memorial pages of victims as I find them.  I encourage everyone to take a moment to remember all of them.

Pervert Alley: Stephen Silvey is an evil, vile man who will die in prison

There is so much wrong here I can’t even comphrend it. This man, Stephen Silvey, is the stereotypical child sexual predator. He threatened his victim, threatened to kill her mother, made her believe this was normal, and more. Yes, he did plead guilty, but only because he was caught and he thought he would get leniancy for saying that he now understood this to be wrong (by the way, he has similar charges for abusing another friend’s child in Texas). At sentencing, his lawyer said that it should count for something that he pled guilty and before being charged led a productive life (how did they figure that – was abusing children part of being productive, since this child is not his only victim?). His family said that Silvey was “their rock”.

In a rambling one-hour oratory, Silvey read a more than 50-page statement Friday in which he said he didn’t realize back then that having sex with a child was deviant behavior. He blamed his conduct on depression, his inability to find an adult girlfriend, and certain health and mental dysfunctions. He criticized the young victim, her parents, prosecutors and even his own attorney.

The Judge, however, was not swayed by this. He sentenced him to 57 years in prison.

DuPage Circuit Judge Peter J. Dockery wasn’t swayed. “He is not really remorseful for his crimes at all,” Dockery said. “He is totally oblivious to the harm and pain he caused the victim and instead is completely focused on himself.”

At last, a Judge who gets it! And I sure hope that Texas still prosecutes him. I do not want to see him being able to get out for any reason. At this point, he is 47 years old. He got 57 years. If he were to spend every single day in prison and live, he would be 104 when he got out. I doubt he will live that long, so that is a good sign. But I would like to see it be a sure thing.

But, there is one good thing here. The victim is moving on with her life. She said that he stole her childhood, but he cannot steal her shining future.

**Update**
I received an email from a family member who disputes that the family considered him a rock and all of those good things. They are upset and embarassed over what he did and want nothing to do with this case. They are not at fault here and had nothing to do with this. I apologize to them for any stress I may have caused.

Good morning everyone! Today and thru Monday I am trying really hard to update posts and stories here. So, if you know of any past post that has bad links or needs the story updated, please tell me! I am trying to get to as much as possible, but I know I won’t finish. But if I know ones that need priority, they will be done first!

This month’s theme/cases of the month has been Child Abuse Homicide. Unfortunately there is never a shortage of these to report on. However, if you know of one that I have not posted on yet, please tell me and I will. These children need justice and need to be remembered. (Actually, if you know of any stories that fit my blog that I have not posted, let me know!  Tips are greatly appreciated!)

Remember ALL victims, not just high profile cases. All victims should be remembered for their lives. We are all worth being remembered.

Breaking News: Susan Atkins, killer of actress Sharon Tate, has died of brain cancer

“I don’t know how many times I stabbed (Tate) and I don’t know why I stabbed her,” … “She kept begging and pleading and begging and pleading and I got sick of listening to it, so I stabbed her”

Susan Atkins, former follower of Charles Manson, died of brain cancer last night in a California prison. I know her last couple of years on earth have been full of pain from the cancer she had, I personally believe she was right where she belonged, sick or not. And I do not want people to forget why she was there. It is not that I am not a compassionate person. I really am. But I focus my love and compassion on the victims and their loved ones. Also, please remember that her original sentence was the death penalty. She should have been gone a long time ago. While it is nice that she personally changed while in prison, that does not mean she did not need to continue to pay for the choices she made. She made the choice to live a life that included criminal activity. She chose to kill people (and more than just Sharon Tate, too). She was very happy and proud of what she did afterwards, not caring about the consequences. Therefore, her conversion to a life of “Christianity” years after the fact do not make a difference to me. That is between her and her God. Right now, I see that justice has been served where she is concerned. May her victims families have a bit of peace today.
