  3. I’ve been compiling genealogical and other information regarding Jason Kenneth Hamilton in a blog:

    http://whowasjasonhamilton.blogspot.com

It’s intriguing that 11 days after the shootings, the only information that has come to light about Jason Hamilton was from the 3 PDF files that the Latah County courts made available. There’s been not a peep about his background, early life, where he was actually from (despite being labeled as “from Kuna” he might actually have had more relations in the Moscow/Potlatch/Princeton area than anywhere else!!!), funeral arrangements, nothing, zip, nada — not the news coverage one would normally expect for a multiple murder.

  4. jason was agood person that had a mental problem. he had asked for help and was denied. we do not know why nobody would listen. i am jason’s stepmother and i know that if someone would have taken the time when he went to mental health to listen to him and offer him the help that he was asking for none of this would have happened. the problem that jason had is hereditary. his father and his younger brother also suffer from promblems and are on medications that help them to be normal people. jason could have been a better person if only someone at mental health would have listened and gave him the help that he needed. i and his family(halfsisters and brother) believe that if people want to place blame then they should look at all the facts, everything that jason’s life really was! i do apologize for his actions and my prayers and those of my church are with everyone that has been affected by this senseless tragedy. jason and crystal we all love both of you. love.randea and all your family here in anderson, california.

  7. With all due repect to Jasons stepmom, our community lost a wonderful police officer, father and husband and friend, not only a friend to fellow officers, but a friend to society. our community also lost an innocent sexton of the church, as well as an innocent young woman(crystal), not to mention,
the wounds that others suffered during this very horrible tragic incident. The scars that will never go away, for the innocent men and women who serve to protect. I was an acquaintance of Jason, only because I had once worked with him for about six months, yes, he was polite, but he bragged to others about using meth, and how he cheated on his g/f crystal, and he even had another girl visiting him at work, causing poor Crystal to come down there at work to check on him. I regret she didnt leave him then. this was in 1998 I beleive, he never displayed any mental illness at that time other than a drug problem,a self inflicted drug problem. I get so tired of criminals blaming the system, when things go wrong, he did have counseling from what I read in the paper,he was on medication, he should have never possessed a firearm to begin with, esp. if he had a hereditary mental problem and a drug problem. I never considered him to be a friend, only a coworker for a short time, I decline to say where, due to respect for the company I worked for, and there privacy. There is no excuse on this planet, for any human, to kill anyone, unless it is self defense and thats the only way out of dying. lots of people have mental issues, they dont go kill other innocent people. he was outraged at the law for the trouble he was in, and I beleive, he shot crystal, than realized, hey, im going down, so I will take as many people as I can with me, and he did, targeting law enforcement. I have sympathy for his family, I really do, when they can come to the realization, that there is no excuse for what he had done. I beleive everyone has a good side, sometimes you have to look real hard to find it. jason, treated me fine, when I worked with him, but, I will never forget the horrible day when I turned on the television, to hear what had happenned. At the time, it didnt even click to me that that was the same Jason i worked with, then later, another coworker said, dont you remember working with him, than I did, I was in shock. I was happy to be alive, for what if he had gone off the deep end then!!!! It is no secret, that a family member, can have someone committed if they can prove he /she is sufferring bad enough or posing a threat to society. i wish someone had. Maybe they did not know it was as bad as it got. please dont take that comment out of context, I do not blame his family whatsoever. i just do not see how it is societys fault. The whole thing is a tragedy, but please dont blame innocent people who did try to help him according to public records. The healing process will begin, when one accepts the realization of the whys and hows ans mostly the who’s. My sympathy to anyone who lost a loved one on that terrible night. Please put the blame where the blame goes.
