Monsters Among Us: Eugene Washington beat Ronnie Robinson to death with a hammer; Sentenced to 16 years to life in prison*

Ronnie Robinson

I could not find anything on this murder, however, it was heinous. Eugene Washington had assaulted his ex-girlfriend, Kimberly Johnson, who filed charges against him. While he was in jail, Gene Washington called and threatened to kill her and her new boyfriend, Ronnie Robinson. The judge, Judge Gilbert Bettman. I do not know if he was aware of the threats or not, however, he released Washington on an OR bond. That very night he went to their home and beat Ronnie to death with a hammer. He was convicted and sentenced to life in prison. Now, the Ohio Parole Board has granted him a parole date of May 29. Prosecuting Attorney Joe Deters is protesting this. So far, I can’t find any updates, but will keep looking. *UPDATE* 5/29/2012 – Eugene Washington’s parole has been stopped. I am not sure what will happen, but I will check on it *UPDATE* 4/2018 – Eugene Washington was denied parole and has a new parole hearing April 2019.

**UPDATE** January 2023: Eugene Washington has a parole hearing next month. If you can send in a letter by mail, email or fax, that would be great. Any help to keep him in prison would be good for the victim’s loved ones and society. I believe he should stay in prison for the rest of his life. He is a danger to Kimberly still. Thank you in advance for any and all help.

I urge everyone to send the Parole Board a letter protesting his release. Maybe if their office is flooded, they will reconsider. Even the prosecutor believes that he is still dangerous, especially to Kimberly Johnson. She should not have to have this fear in her life again. A sample letter is below, under the INMATE INFORMATION that you can use every time he is up for parole.

**Update** 3/8/2023 – He had another parole hearing and was denied parole again. Next parole hearing is set for 12/2026.

Re: Parole Hearing Planned for Eugene Washington, Inmate # A248619
Please DO NOT grant parole to Eugene Washington, Inmate # A248619. As a concerned citizen, I am writing to protest the projected parole of this convicted murderer.

In November 1990, Washington was facing a domestic violence charge filed by ex-girlfriend, Kimberly Johnson. While in jail, Washington called and threatened to kill both Kimberly and Ronnie. When he went to court, Judge Gilbert Bettman released him on OR bond. That very night Washington went to their home and he beat Ronnie Robinson to death with a hammer.

The heinous nature of the murder of Ronnie Robinson, the multiple crimes committed and his past history of violent crimes should preclude any consideration of parole for Eugene Washington. His actions have shown that he is extremely volatile and that he has no regard for human life. For this heinous crime, Washington was sentenced to 16 years to Life in prison but he sentenced the Robinson family and friends to a lifetime of grief and sorrow.

In the interests of justice, public safety, and to lessen the emotional trauma for the victim’s family, please consider giving Washington a three year set off before any future parole reviews.

Thank you for your consideration,
Sincerely,

Parole Hearing coming up for killer Edward Seibold – Help stop this killer from being paroled

UPDATE: 8/15/2012 – Edward Seibold was DENIED parole again.

Victims
Sarah Elizabeth Sinclair, 18,
Mary Lynn Sinclair, 9
Mary “MayMay” Durant, 8 (Mary Lynn’s best friend)
Juanita Sinclair, mother, survived

SAMPLE LETTER TO THE PAROLE BOARD:

State of Alabama
Board of Pardons and Paroles
P.O. Box 302405
Montgomery, AL 36130-2405
Members of the Alabama Board of Parole Hearings:
Re: Parole Hearing Planned for Edward A. Seibold, AIS# 105403, Hearing Date: August 14, 2012

Please DO NOT grant parole to Edward A Seibold, AIS# 105403. As a concerned citizen, I am writing to protest the projected parole of this convicted murderer.

On September 6, 1967, Edward Seibold entered the Sinclair home and proceeded to use a shotgun on the people in the home that he could find. He was obsessed with Cathey Sinclair, age 20. They had dated, but Cathey broke up with him after the summer of 1966, but he would not be stopped. He harassed this family over and over again, until he went there to shoot and kill all in the residence. At the end, killed 3 people, 1 adult, Sarah Elizabeth Sinclair, 18, and 2 children, Mary Lyn Sinclair, 9, and Mary Durant, 8. He also shot and wounded Juanita Sinclair, Cathey’s mother.

The heinous nature of the murders of these girls, and the continued harassment of this family should preclude any consideration of parole for Edward Siebold. His actions have shown that he is extremely volatile and that he has no regard for human life. For this heinous crime, Seibold was originally sentenced to death but it was later changed to life in prison but he sentenced the Sinclair & Durant families and friends to a lifetime of grief and sorrow.

In the interests of justice, public safety, and to lessen the emotional trauma for the victim’s family, please consider giving Washington a three year set off before any future parole reviews.

Thank you for your consideration,
Sincerely,

Don Elmer Lloyd murder 1994 Clarksburg, WV *Robert Lively convicted and sentenced to 35 years in prison; has parole hearing coming up*

remembering the victims

I have been unable to find much on this case, however, his murderer is up for parole again in Feb. 2011. From what I have found, Robert Lively knocked on the door of Don Elmer Lloyd and his wife. When Don opened the door, Lively shot him, and then pointed the gun at his wife. He pulled the trigger, but it jammed and he ran away. He then held an ex-girlfriend and some children hostage before being arrested. He was convicted and sentenced to only 35 years in prison. Therefore, he has a parole hearing come up every year. There is a petition to help stop parole for him. He has not been a model inmate (not even close), and in my opinion, should not be released. I have signed the petition and I hope many of you will as well. I do not want to see him hurt another human being ever again.

I have been unable to find a picture of the victim, Don Elmer Lloyd. If anyone has one to share, I would love to post one.

Big Surprise! Child killer Diane Downs denied parole again!

Anyone surprised? I don’t see any hands! Plus, she cannot reapply for parole for another 10 years. Who is that pouting and still saying she is innocent? Yeah, we know. She will never even be considered for parole until she faces facts and takes responsibility for what happened. And her story still keeps changing. However, I believe she will be in prison until she dies, so justice is served.

*Update*
Betty had her parole hearing on 1/21/2010, but was denied and given a rehearing in 15 years. Board members said she is still “Angry Betty” and did not even try to show any remorse. In fact, 2 of her children believe she deserves to remain in prison. She is not ready for parole.

She had another parole hearing today, 1/4/2017, but was denied again.
