Please remember when leaving a comment on my blog that all comments are subject to the blog owners discretion. I do believe in freedom of speech, however, that right is not absolute. Here are the rules: 1 - Please remember the victim(s) first and foremost. Do not come here to comment only on the offender(s). My blog focuses on the victim(s). Do not glorify the killer(s). No negative comments about the victim. NO VICTIM BLAMING. 2 - I will not tolerate hate filled speech, vulgar or derogatory remarks about a victim. I will remove comments that go against this. I will not remove comments just because they do not match my beliefs, in fact, I welcome them! However, that being said, I will remove those that I find offensive, argumentative just for the sake of starting an argument that does not add to the post, hate-filled speech, etc. 3-No comments in ALL CAPS, or CoMeNtS. They are rude and difficult to read. I have had many complaints about it so no more. 4-Comments must be in English only and easy to read (meaning no text language, shortening words, etc.). Have respect for those who don't do text messaging or other lingo. 5 - ALL COMMENTS LEFT BY COMMENTORS ARE THEIR OWN AND THEIR OPINIONS. THEY DO NOT CONSTITUTE FACTS. 1. Back when my cousin was 4 he encountered what this poor little boy went through. He woke up & found his mom brutally murdered!! When the cops found my cousin he was walking down the road with his mom’s coat covered in her blood he wasn’t able to get his own coat she was laying on it she was sleeping on the couch! & with him being around 4. I never discussed this with him when he was older because I didn’t want him to have to relive this. His sister had spent the night with her grandma when this happened. This happened in the 1980’s. We never found out who killed my cousin’s mother!! So what happened in this case made me think of my relative(s) people don’t care how it can be very tramatic & being a very long term affective to someone(s) lives! My heart goes out to this family as we’ll!! As my relatives! My heart goes out to this family as we’ll!!

  2. This was an awful crime and everyone was surprised that the seemingly decent and dutiful son was the perpetrator. Have any books been written about the case?

    • There is a documentary about this case. It is “Forensic Files: In the Bag”. You can find it at YouTube. Along with over 200 other episodes. Episodes mostly about crimes this extreme, some less, other episodes about accidents, outbreaks, accidents that investigators suspect were murders, and either the wrong person is convicted of the crime, or someone is convicted of a crime that never happened, but was in fact an accident, or the deceased committed suicide. The episodes are only 21 minutes long. So they’re not slow. They are very detailed. Viewed up close, computer animations of the details, the evidence, the analysis, the results, the methods of the analysis, reenactments of what happened at the scene, narration with a tone realistic to the shock of the details and what happened, and details that the DNA profiling is so accurate, that although not 100% accurate, the DNA profile is distinctive enough, that besides the killer, the next person to have that type of DNA profile would be the next 100-billion-billionth person born in the future. (In my opinion, the Sun will be gone and life on Earth will seize to exist LOOONG before that many people could even evolve).

  3. Old Gregg should have gotten the NEEDLE and not life. Now he is a burden to the taxpayers.

  5. He should had gotten the death penalty. Not only because he killed 2 people, but because of how hard he had tried to cover up his crimes. The undersized shoes and shoe impression, the gloves, trying to remove the serial number from the shotgun, and disposing the gun, shoes and gloves into a river, expecting the flow would carry the evidence to a rural area or between bushes miles away from the nearest road. And because of how close he was to getting away with it. Since it was only a single fingerprint in the inside tip of one of the gloves. A fingerprint that was still recoverable, despite being underwater for days.
