  1. I can accept the sentences of the 13-year old boy – detention in a juvenile home until he’s 21 and the sentence of the getaway driver -10 years or approximately that – but I cannot accept the murderer getting off with 32 years. The commission of a murder in an armed robbery is a capital offense so sure. This murderer should be on death row.

    • Edward,

Actually the murderer got 21 years to life. Here in Utah, it is doubtful he will get out in 21 years. He may end up with natural life. He won’t get a parole hearing until he has been in prison for 21 years. Rarely do killers get out on the first or second try. And since he has gang ties, I really doubt he will get out before he is very old.

      • I hope you’re right, Bonnie. Actually, if you put him on death row in Utah, he’d probably end up dying of old age anyway. I could write a book on Utah’s death row. You’ve got a cast of characters there, 2nd to none.

        • I hope I am right too! I have checked up on killers here from the 80s and they are still locked up for the most part. And some got (quite deservedly) natural life after going to the board. Hopefully it continues.
