  1. I predict he’ll be out of jail in 10 years. Even if they kept his sentence at life, he’d be out in 20 years maximum. The United States is about the only country left that still keeps people in prison for more than 20 years. I’m not saying we’re right or wrong – just telling it like it is.

  2. Actually I believe the ID Discovery Story said he was released in 2008 and is married. Apparently the Greek penal philosophy is “rehabilitation” Good luck to his new wife with that experiment.

  3. I’m confused. I just watched the new show on ID channel Murder in Paradise. They did not mention they were married. I thought she was killed because she was breaking up with him, and he freaked out cuz he would be loosing his sugar mama… They were fighting in the car and he strangled her and then cut her up. She wanted to move back to New Jersey to be with her daughter she left behind.

    • Lois,

I noticed too that there were several versions. The one thing in common is that she wanted to go back to NJ to be with her daughter.

    • I just read the book and they never actually got married but were going to. Except that Julie became very depressed when she got to Greece and missed her daughter/way of life here in the States too much. Told “the creep” that she wanted to return and there would be no nuptials, which he did not react too kindly to. She should have made him think that all was well and left without telling him, but she had no idea how violent he could be. He’s a typical psychopath that thinks the world revolves around him. Yeah, he’s out now and only served 8 years. Unbelievable.

  4. This is disgusting the fact he is out and living his life and remarried it is repulsive. She was so naive wish these shows like ID were out in those years maybe that would scare her but these woman want the paradise, the exotic man good sex and life is good he was a con, she got it all permanently saddest part is she never saw her daughter again. Im so happy the father of her daughter never let her go to her mother. I might seem mean in regards to Julie but she should have not dropped everything for a man she barely new and also what good man would stay in the same house that her husband and her built I mean Im sounding like a hater but this is how I feel.

  5. He WASN’T married to Julie Scully, who left her (ex-) husband & daughter in NJ, got the $600,000 divorce settlement, was going to open a taxicab company w/ him, moved to Kavala to be with, and marry, him. They had planned to marry, she changed her mind, wanting to go back to NJ & he killed her. He also burned her body and cut her head off, throwing it into the Aegean Sea!

When he went to jail for a life sentence, they let him out after 8 years. He is NOW married to another, different, woman — An IDIOT, if you will.

  9. I just saw this on the ID channel. Very sad but after reading the responses about him only doing 8 yrs. Here in the US many murderers have gotten early release after getting a life sentence. Stop acting like it’s only done overseas.

    • You sound very dumb and/or uninformed…how is this slap on a wrist comparable to the American penal system. When someone is sentenced to LIFE in prison, they are NEVER eligible for parole in 8 years. Maybe 25 years but not 8. This is a slap in the face to her loved ones that she left behind
