This reminds me of the “Brown’s Chicken” murders in Palatine, Illinois around 1992, where 2 men, Juan Luna and James Ngorski, herded 7 employees of the “Brown’s Chicken” restaurant into the freezer and shot and killed them all. There were no survivors. It took about 10 years to catch these guys, and they were caught when one of their girlfriends turned them in. Now they’re doing life without parole in some Illinois prison.

This was crazy. I knew the young man Jeremy Mele. He was my younger brother’s friend. I was good friends with his older brother. We were from the jersey shore. This was so unlucky because I heard he literally just went to NY to be with a girl and start a life. It was a huge deal to be from a small beach town and go to the big city and try and survive. He was always a good kid and I still think about how sad this is all these years later. I hope his family is ok.
