I remember the case of Louis Hastings who killed about 6 people in the town of McCarthy, Alaska. It was a real wilderness town of just about 25 people, and he just went about shooting them. He’s in prison now, since 1983 – he’s in his 30th year, and he’s 68 years old. It makes a guy wonder, even if he’s fed up with civilization, if it’s worth it to go to Alaska.
