  1. It kills me when they make plea deals.I think they should always push it to the limit. To me it`s like they do not have enough to convict, and that always makes me wonder if they got the right person.

    • Etta,

There are many reasons to make plea deals. Sometimes the family wants it so they can get on with their lives. Also, do you know how much trials cost? Especially murder trials? They are not cheap. With the economy the way it is right now, many Counties have laid off court workers, police, etc. It is hard to cover these costs, unfortunately. In many cases, there is not a lot of evidence, so it makes sense to do a plea bargain, as you don’t know what a jury will do. Look at the Brenda Schaefer case. Right person, but was exonerated. He later admitted he killed her.

  2. In watching the video of Stacy Fairchild, I can see why this family decided to not take the plea deal. Frankly, I don’t blame them for doing so in this matter. They made it very clear that having a circus at the expense of their daughters memory was not a cost they wanted to bear. These are quiet hardworking Americans who if you look closely at their body language were absolutely mortified by the loss of their daughter.
Their eyes looked tired and their hearts were clearly broken by this terrible loss. Stacy’s brother even stated that since her death the family was not the same. Why go further when you have been this far and dealt with the loss in such a heartfelt manner.
Mr. Dysart is obviously a very hardened criminal who as Mr. Fairchild said had no humanity she was nothing to him and his actions proved it. I am sure he lied to them as he did to the police, however, The Fairchild’s have wisdom to them to know that a higher authority knows and will not take a plea deal.

  3. they found the scumbags D N A. inside the poor girl to the person who thinks they didn’t have enough evidence so they made a deal. just what would the district attorney on your planet do? would they force the poor grieving parents to view the sick awful crime scene photo’s and relive the horrible last moments of their daughters last moments on earth I have been to prison and I thank God every day we have prisons just for sickos just like this. however I’m sure they have Unicorns and pots of gold at the end of every rainbow. john from planet earth.
