  1. To understand why Darryl Hunt was convicted read the witness statments their discription of events falls right into play of Darryl Hunt being guilty he’s own statment Android the statment of his allibi points the guilt right at him

How the was released is beyond me the orginated from two perpetrators one which left DNA on the victim

  2. Rest-in-Peace

Those two were much bigger and stronger than you were

  3. This just shows the injustice of the American judicial system that was founded on corruption as well prejudice against colored people. Early on in the court system, a white person could say without évidence that à black person did something and that was that. The youngest person in American history to be executed was a 14yr old boy from South Carolina. We’ve been judicially lynched even to this day. There are thousands of Daryll Hunts all over the country.

    • The case was never a racial case, except for the fact that the perpetrator was black and the victim(s) was/were white. Witnesses, whether or not they had personal agendas, pointed fingers to a man who resembled the person they saw with the victim. It turned out that mug shots of Hunt and Brown actually did resemble–all the way down to the tilt of their heads. To scream “racism”, though, is an injustice on its own. Remember, juries are picked by the prosecution AND the defense (a defense team that believed in Hunt’s innocence). The fact that the jury lacked diversity is sad, but it falls into the hands of those who chose the jury. Finally, as a man who has lived in Winston-Salem for most of my life, and who has spent equal amounts of time from the old Waughtown section, the Cleveland Avenue projects, Clemmons West, Waterford, and Pfafftown, I can tell you that most any of us who “ran the streets” in the early-to-mid 80’s have skeletons in our closets. We’re no angels. We’re not racists, either.

  4. So sad for all concerned r.I.p debrah sykes.

    • Thank God for DNA and those good people who refuse to turn a blind eye to miscarriages of justice at great expense to their personal lifes. They work countless hours for little or no pay, their rewards are of the heart which sees no color. Let us not forget who witnessed the crime and did nothing to stop it, those who testified against Hunt and those who repeatedly faced stacked judicial odds to see Hunt pardoned. Were the witnesses white? How about all the people who testified that it was Hunt? And the attorney who spent hours researching, preparing appeals only to be scorned in the courts and amongst his peers, was he black?
