  1. Chester Weger was also a victim in the Starved Rock Murders . Mrs Oetting is the only one that Chester was convicted of murdering. How did they convict him? Simple. Keep the evidence out of the trial.
What evidence? Well, lets start with the killer’s bloody finger prints. Lets add the killer’s hair (three different samples) And to this day they will not DNA THE HAIR OR THE BLOOD? Makes you wonder about justice in this case. It is no secret that in 90 percent of all trials the accused are found guilty.[ you don’t need much to get a guilty verdict, just arrest somebody!] Chester does not have any other court convictions, so why is he in prison at all, since his time was up 32 years ago. He has been locked up for over 52 years for one count of murder. LaSalle County has always kept the lid on this case. Think about this: you have a wonderful lady that when fighting for her life obtained her killers hair. For her effort we should DNA that hair. Then we can all reaffirm our confidence in the Justice system.. Mrs Oetting solved this case 52 years ago. We want to honor her. Find the real killers. DNA will do that.

    • Dexter,

How do you figure his time was up 32 years ago? He got a life sentence, which does not equal 20 years. Yes, people can and do get parole, but the parole board is not obligated to give parole. Life can and does often mean life. Ask William Heirens.

  2. Let the man go free. He’s done 51 years in prison, and he still claims he’s innocent. Even if he’s not, he’s been locked up long enough. No human being belongs in a cage for half a century.

  3. Those women don’t have the opportunity to be released from what he has done to them. Would you feel the same if one of them was your daughter?

  4. we are not talking about mad man Charles Manson, who is still crazy today… we are talking about the wrong full conviction of MR Weger. all the evidence from this crime scene was look at… the killers hair …the killers bloody finger prints …the killers shoe size…not in the trial why not ? they would not have ever lock him up if this evidence was in the trial. we should all call for the DNA of everything in this case. Chester has nothing to lose.
