  1. Teah (the alleged killer) shot this young lady Amanda in the stomach in front of other students. How was a gun brought into this school? Reports say the school has security, where were they?? No metal detectors…..wow. Taking these kind of chances should be a thing of the pass. RIP Amanda. I’ll pray for your family. How senseless.

  4. Dillard has a bad rep already. Although they have metal detectors that clip a good amount of money from the school’s budget they don’t use them EVERYDAY, so why have them. Teah Wimberly was able to leave school and return with a gun. Where was security ??? Security guards feel the need to be cool with the student rather than put thier safety first…how sick is that…Pparent of Dillard High need to protest. RIP Amanda C.

Teah Wimberly needs to charged as an adult because clearly this was all premeditated…God Bless your soul Teah W.

  6. This is all crazy that someone can get into a school with a gun that easy and walk around campus with it. This young lady most definitely needs to be charged as an adult because she knew exactly what she was doing. I can not believe these kids are so senseless to the point of murder.

  7. Dillard does have a bad rep but not for killing people. For anyone to make it seem like it is the worse school in the nation is outrageous. The school has its share of problems just like other schools. Just because it is not a school based in the suburbs and of mixed races and socioeconomic backgrounds does not make it a terrible school. What happened to Amanda was terrible and I mourn with her and her family, however, it is a situation that could have occurred anywhere.

  11. I don’t think this incident should cause everyone to blame the school. The question we should be asking is how she got the gun to school in the first place. I must admit DHS is not one of the best schools out there, but if you research all the high schools in Florida you see at least a couple of flaws too.

  12. What saddens me the most is how we are not taking the time to teach our children how to cope when someone you love tells you that they do not feel the same way. I also think that you have ti keep in mind that this is a 15 y/o young lady and she has just thrown her life away in just 3 min. This is truly a sad situation for both sides. May God see what’s fit and may justice be served!!!!

    Treasure This,
Your very first sentence is so powerful. I hope alot of people think about that. Rejection hurts, but we need to be taught how to deal with it.
    God bless you all.

  18. i dont know none of these people.
But i agree with treasure. I don’t know the full story but just by reading these responses says alot.
If Teah was really in love with amanda she probably felt as if ” if no one can have amanda no one can .” I guess she didnt know how to cope with the pain and unfortunately there is a thing called sick love. So she shot her….. honestly i don’t think this whole case makes any sense and i think this whole thing could have been avoided. But how well do you really know a person…… it just comes to show that you never really do. Teah on the other hand, I don’t think she had to shoot her, she could’ve gotten counseling but at this age, this sensitive period called the ” Teen Age ” we never know if we don’t have proper guidance.

  19. i dont know amanda but my grandma knew teah but all i want to say is that its a very tragic situation that took place that someone their age would turn to a weapon to cause harm to someone else because they didnt get what they wanted.i dont just blame the schools security i blame society period.and some peoples parents think that it wont happen to their child but hello it will obvioulsy.this situation period is just plain ridiculous one very young teenager, amanda, just lost her life and the other, teah, no longer has one.now her new life is in prison and it aint no walk in the park.this situation couldve been easily avoided if the security was alot tighte some students might not like it but hey they have to deal with it,id rather have a security guard escort me to the restroom then to be killed.and the real shame is that 4 tragic situations happened that couldve been avoided,do you think society or even the schol boards get the picture.nope.they have to wait intil over 10 more situations occur before they get there foots out there mouths and do something about it.i feel sorry for the family of both girls.i hope amanda rests in peace.and i hope teah atleast makes it through jail.

  20. When I first heard about this story I knew it was more to it. The new made it seem as if Teah was just love sick and a stalker…..It seemed to me that they had to be dating and Teah had her heart broken. No, she didn’t handle the situation as she should, but has anyone considered that she needs some help, she probably felt abandoned by haer mother who isn’t with her, her father in jail, who did she have to talk to about what she was going through. Lesbian heartache is alot for adults, imagine for a 15 year old. Instead of putting all her business in the streets, offer help and guidance…Remember there are more than one side to a story. I pray for both families.

  21. I totally agree with Faraa. We need to stop trying to portray this girl as a stalker. She was in love with her partner. How many women and men have been so in love with someone and when they find out that person has hurt them, want their partner to feel the pain they are experiencing? Amanda was 15 years-old and probably did not want her friends and most importantly her family to know she is a lesbian. Society defines lesbianism as some sort of disease or illness. There is more than one side to every story. Could Amanda have been in love with her and not want it to get out she was seeing another girl? Could she have been stringing Teah along for some kind of gain? Was this a relationship that was kept quiet and out of sight because of her parent’s reaction? More importantly, who has sat down with Teah and TALKED TO her, not at her? Obviously Teah had more than just passing feelings for this girl. She was heartbroken when she found out Amanda had died. One thing us adults need to do is stopping speculating and start helping. Start supporting our youth and the decisions they make. My hearts and prayers go out to both families.

  22. Two lives were tragically interrupted a perputrator and the victim, however as the story goes on we learn thousands of lives were interrupted by this tragic crime.
I knew Amanda and know her family…to see the streets covered with tears and to hear the memories that they hold so dear is heartbreaking. However to know that their FAITH in God will carry them through this time in their close knit lives has been encouraging.
To know that NEVERTHELESS, they have forgiven the young lady who pulled the trigger even as they grieve their loss has made a lasting impression on me. Some in the world today encourage hate and the news media at times would want to hear that, but the love of God says forgive.

We all can learn a lesson from this tragedy and can grow from it. I want to encourage everyone, don’t wait for tomorrrow, but hug your children, family and friends; let them know you love them. Put the past behind and move forward. Amanda Grace death will not be in vain.

  23. Its amazing how that how while one family mourns the lost of their daughter that people wouold come on line and speculate. I ask you this…IF they were lovers so what?? Lets really look at the big picture, AMANDA is dead!!!!!!!! Tiah will be in jail for the rest of her life.

Some are interested in gossip so we will hear a lot of speculation. Regardless lets look at some facts:
    1. Amanda was a very nice and loving young lady.
    2. Obviously she was loved by many…wow you all should have been to the memorial service and funeral, it was HEAVENLY.
    3. Amanda may have done some things wrong, but she did a lot of things right. Give credit where credit is due!

Let the girl rest in peace/let her family grieve in peace… if you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all, even if it is about the young lady who TRAGICALLY took Amanda’s life. If you can’t do that then its obvious that you haven’t learned anything at all.

  24. I didn’t know these two beautiful either. I will not judge, these are children. But Teah KNEW what would happen if she shot Amanda, she knew she COULD die, and she did. Teah should have to pay for that. Everyone loses here. But Teah’s family can go and see her, hear her voice. Not so with Amanda. Teah tokk Amanda’s life, and in doing so threw hers away. Thats a choice she made, not Amanda. My heart goes out to BOTH families, but especially Amanda’s because she is no longer here. Most peopke WILL speculate because Amanda is not here to give us the other side of the story. God bless.

  25. As much as I hate to say it schools are not prisons. I myself was part of a school violence event. Having metal detectors isn’t going to solve the problem. What they did after my event happened is they locked all but one entrance during the day ie no in or out unless it via that entrance. (they eventually made it 2 so it was less congested) Everybody has to wear and ID and they have a firearms dog at both of those entrances. (yeah try and get a gun past a dog that can smell a grain of gun powder in a pound of weed. The officer gave a demo)………I do feel bad for the families and speaking from experience it is very hard. I have been there. Check out my story (I blogged it on here with other links)

that was very rude of you! Only losers like you can’t be able to withstand Florida schools. With that mouth of yours you could get beat up. Yes, that’s crazy to shoot someone because of rejection but you need to forgive, ok??!!
    RIP Amanda
Hope you stick it out Teah!
