i knew jacob from school he never seemed to be the violent type of person many people say that richard brighton was abusive others say that jacob killed his parents because they didnt get jacob the truck he wanted so why did he do it

Rick and Penny were my Aunt and Uncle. In their defense they were not abusive to any of their children and it is really hurting our family for people to say that. Until Jacob says that there was abuse done to him I would appriciate people to keep there hear say to themselves. (Mary) knew Jake from school, yet she can spread gossip of what she heard? And you people smear it on the internet. Lets stick to the facts. Regardless to what the reason is, my Aunt and Uncle won’t be brought back. Respect the family thats dealing with this instead of trying to get ratings for your damn blog.

I worked with Richard Brighton i met him when i first came to florida acouple of years ago from the hurricane that toreyour county apart. i did some work with Mr. Brighton during the time i new him all he would talk about is his sons. How much he loved them and would do anything for them .He’d take them to other states to race dirt bikes not many fathers would take the time off to spend time with his kids leave work and pick Jacob up from school thi s is alla shock my god bless the Family

Penny and her family used to go to my church when I lived in Florida a few years ago. At church she was my sunday school teacher and a friend to everyone. She was such a great person. Her family seemed to be perfect. I can’t believe this has happened. My thoughts, hopes, and prayers go out to the family. I am terribly sorry.

My heart is torn for the family. I have been through this myself. My cousin killed his father. I can tell you that the hearsay and rumors are going to fly just keep your head high and try not to let them get to you. You know the truth and that’s all that matters. You can never convince everyone of the truth no matter how hard you want to. People love the drama of our misery. Not all people but there are some that truly do. My heart is breaking for you…May god bless you all!!!!!!!

i knew jacob we went to school together and his mom taught me. his parent weren’t abuse or anything they say on here!!!!!!!!!!! he never seemed voilent to anyone or toward me we played paintball togehter even then he was not violent his mom caught us drinking and she did even punish him . that is give him some breathing room if you ask me they did everything for him i don’t know why he would do something like muder his parents they seemed to love him to death.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m a christian that has been ministering in jails/prisons since 1993. I’ve been ministering to Jacob & other juveniles in the same housing in Ft. Pierce jail for about 10 months now. During which time Jacob’s heart has softened considerably. He has listened & carefully paid attention to my sermons. When I’ve brought in worship music, he & most of the other juveniles have lifted there hands & worshiped God with me. He has rehearsed the sinners prayer as well as I’ve anionted him with oil. I’ve seen considerable improvements…the Lord doing a work in his heart. Struggling through shame is going to be a long hard road for him. Forgiven? Yes, no different than the Apostle Paul, Moses, & King David…living out the consequences of his actions? Yes, it will be over his entire lifetime.

I was in jail with Jacob for almost 5 months. Jake was a pretty good kid, and i still dont see any violence in him. But we got pretty close in jail and he told me about a lot of stuff in his life and why he killed his parents. I still aint sure what he was talking about but he said he did it to save his brother. Im not sure how he was saving his brother by doing that, but i just thought id put it out there. Anyways Jacob was a good friend and i still talk to him on the phone and write him letters every now and then. I believe if he were to get out of jail he wouldn’t hurt a fly. My heart goes out to Jacob and his family. Luv ya bro, your boy

My husband was a very good friend of Rick and Penny for many, many years and he loved Rick and the family a lot. But my husband has commented every now and than even before the murders had happened that Rick was very rough on the boys. If they didn’t do will on thier motorcycle races, he would call them names and threaten them. My husband beleives that when Jacob’s brother went off to the military leaving him alone to deal with his dad that Jake was pushed too far. He says that Jake and Penny were always very close and don’t understand him killing Penny. God bless everyone this tagedy has effected .
