Here are the rules: 1 - Please remember the victim(s) first and foremost. Do not come here to comment only on the offender(s). My blog focuses on the victim(s). Do not glorify the killer(s). No negative comments about the victim. NO VICTIM BLAMING. 2 - I will not tolerate hate filled speech, vulgar or derogatory remarks about a victim. I will remove comments that go against this. I will not remove comments just because they do not match my beliefs, in fact, I welcome them! 1. I am the Brother-In-Law of Michael Mayborne. I lived through the pain Mr. Bacino caused to my family. I saw the suffering his caos created for my Sister and my two Nieces.

This man must never go free. Not just for creating such pain in my family but for all the other fallen law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. As American citizens we cannot allow our justice system to release dangerous murderers early especially Cop Killers.

  2. Mike was my husband and we are now HIS voice. The prisoner review board of Illinois neglects notification of victims, like us. Our next battle will be to safeguard victims rights. More info re: Illinois go to- http://www.illinoisvictims.org where you will read first hand how legislatures are NOW voting to release LWOP prisoners early. They need to Vote NO HB1695 NO. The sentencing Judge is now advocating his release and is complete betrayal to myself, family, co-workers and about 3,000 concerned citizens who have signed protests. March 14, we will be in Dixon to protest, all are welcome to join. WHAT ABOUT THE VICTIMS? GO TO http://WWW.ILLINOISVICTIMS.ORG NOW!!! CNN, COURT TV, CATHERINE CRIER, NANCY GRACE, AMW PLEASE TAKE NOTE.

  3. Theodore Bacino did the crime he needs to do his time all of it. So does every violent criminal. Contact your Represenatives and urge them to vote NO to HB1695 To abolish life without parole. (these bills are written by criminals for criminals and get passed under our noses!!!)
Go to IllinoisVictims.com for your list of Represenatives and contact info!!!!! They vote Weds. or Thurs.

  4. michael mayborne was and still is my father. the pain mr. bacino has caused me and my family is still fresh to this day 33yrs. later. voting no to hb1695 will help us and thousands of other victims so they will not have to relive there pain year after year. the public needs to be made aware of these bills , our governmant needs to be more responsilbe.

    • The family of bacino are saying he is gonna be released this year . I hope you can stop this animal from getting out !

  5. i never got to know Mike Mayborne. He was married to my Aunt Terry and he passed way before i was born. From what i hear he was a great man. please support my family and vote NO to hb1695. Mr. Bacino has been gone for a VERY long time and where his is now is where he needs to remain..not out free.

  6. Mr. Bacino will remain in prison one more year per his enbanc hearing in Springfield on June 14, 2007. The victims were present to hear the verdict. 7/6 vote for no parole. Most PRB members including the chairman advocate for the prisoner. Voice your disappointed to the Govenor regarding the appointment of these members. We pay their salary and they have released 23 cop killers who they feel 20 years is enough to serve in prison for that crime. I find this unacceptable and hold them accountable. Hear (audio available on 7 members)their deciding voices at http://www.rrstar.com on the Bacino article.

  7. Update: Theodore Bacino will be up for parole again in May 2008 for the murder of Winnebago Cty. Detective Michael Mayborne, March 15, 1974. Send protests to:
Illinois Prisoner Review Board, Jorge Montes, Chairman, 319 E. Madison St. Ste. A, Springfield, IL.62703
Mention: C#02070-ILL DOC. Thank you. Send letters of concern about the actions and comments of the PRB to the Govenor of Illinois and your Senator. Thank you. Victims

  8. Terry,

I will send in a letter for sure!

  9. […] Parole Protest at the Dixon Correctional Facility Bacino to remain behind bars Michael Mayborne murder 3/15/74 Poplar Grove, IL *Theodore Bacino convicted and sentenced to 150 yea… […]

  10. What? are you people not able to forgive this man? He may have done a wrong thing(murder) but you need to forgive this man no matter what! This man theodore bacino is my friends granpa.

    • And just why should a murderer be more important than the victim? You never once mentioned Michael Mayborne, the actual murder victim of this crime. Theodore Bacino may be your friend’s grandfather, but he is also someone’s murderer. He took the life, knowingly and willingly. Michael Mayborne also has a family and loved ones. Why do you not have any compassion for them?

And no, I do not think that Mr. Bacino should be released from prison. His sentence is 150 years, so he should serve that sentence. That would be justice.

  11. “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good” Roman 8:21
God forgives you for your hard hearts and your lack of mercy and grace. He loves you just the way he loves Mr Bacino. Remember the grace of God and Jesus died for your sins… my sins and for Mr Bacino’s sins.
I will be praying for your peace. But i strongly believe that you need to forgive be at peace. Dont hold on to so much pain. Michael may be with Jesus but so will Mr Bacino because Jesus has forgiven him. remember that… when you wake up in the morning and begin with so much anger and hate. “For God so loved the World that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in his shall not perish but have eternal life” Forgive because you have been forgive.

    • sak,

You may believe all of that, however, that does not mean that Mr. Bacino does not need to pay the price for killing another human being. Maybe you can forgive people so easily like it was nothing, but not everyone can or believes the way you do. But I can say, unless you have had a loved one murdered, you cannot possibly understand how they feel. So do not stand on your soapbox and tell others how to feel. We all SHOULD get angry that people murder other people. It should not be condoned just because they can be “forgiven”. Being spiritually or emotionally forgiven has NOTHING to do with the criminal justice system.

  12. Ted Bacino was part of my family. True its been a long time since the murder but at the end of the day, a man’s life was lost which is a horrible, horrible event for its family members.

I agree that God has forgiven Ted, but it won’t bring back Michael Mayborne and therefore Ted should serve his full sentence.

My hearts go out to the Mayborne family and friends. And more importantly, I am so sorry for Ted’s actions.
