  1. It wrenches my heart…..
I am their great nephew. This happened in the small town of Graceville FL…. my grandmother Jeanette Watford was Kathryn McRae’s sister. Sad day for our family..etched in my mind for eternity.

  2. The McRae case is sad, but interesting. Obviously the Gulf Power angle has been explored, though not fully developed. The death of others associated with the company also raise suspicion. I have a theory the motive for taking her ring was to show someone else the crime had been accomplished. If – as the police reported – there was no evidence of burglary or robbery, this would support the idea someone had this couple murdered. Several years ago I read something related to this case that suggested an outright ambush. I am surprised the case remains unsolved. Whoever did this was probably a repeat offender.

    My condolensces to your family.

  3. If you are already aware of this then I apologize but I wanted to post a link to this double homicide information as well since the 2 appear to be linked somehow.
