Update: Jessica Lunsford murder *John Couey sentenced to death*

Today was the day. Today in a Florida courtroom, Circuit Judge Ric Howard handed down the most appropriate sentence for child killer John Evander Couey. Of course, we all knew that was what the Judge would do, since the jury recommended it and Judges rarely go against what they recommend. And if John Couey does not deserve the death penalty, who does? He kidnapped Jessica from her own home, then sexually assaulted her. He then told her he would take her home, but then bound her and put her in garbage bags and buried her in a yard close to her own home. She was found 3 weeks later, after suffocating to death. I cannot imagine what that poor girl was thinking or feeling. Or how her father felt after finding out that she was so close to him while slowly dying. And then Couey had the nerve to say he would apologize to Jessica in heaven. WHAT??? I am sorry, but he is NOT going to heaven. He has murdered an innocent child. I hope he suffers for the rest of his sad sorry life and after. He does not deserve even one moment of happiness again. Ever.

Mark Lunsford, I admire you for your strength throughout this ordeal. You never sank to his level, but kept a calm, cool head. I can never understand how you feel or what you have gone through, and I wish you never had to go through this. But you are an inspiration to me and to my family. I wish you only happiness and good luck from here on out.
