Like Mr. Rosenbaum’s brother said, “it was poetic justice” that Mr. Nelson got stabbed in the head with an ice pick. I remember this incident well. A funeral procession of Hassidic Jews was driving down the street, when one of the cars accidentally hit and killed a young black man, and a crowd of angry blacks went berzerk and just started to attack Jews, as if the accident was intentional. The whole mob should have been charged with hate crimes. It was a modern day lynching without a rope.
I have to admit, I don’t have much sympathy for Mr. Nelson either. He should have been in prison for life. And he is legally free. No justice for Yankel Rosenbaum.
