I feel for Andrew’s mom; she lost her child; because he got in with the wrong crowd. The same thing happened to Shawn.Shawn’s childhood, growing up, was tough. He was pretty much on his own since he was very young. It would be my hope that some follow-up would be done on this case. Yes, Shawn was there, he participated, he was into drugs (and so was Andrew) according to testimony. Shawn was following orders from a man they ALL thought was their way to a better life.SHAWN DID NOT KILL ANDREW. It would be my hope that Andrew’s mom would visit and talk to Shawn. He is a changed man. It has been 11 years that he has been in prison…can’t someone help him to get an “early out”? Shawn’s mom is in bad health. She spends her days wondering how she is going to get to the prison to see her son. She doesn’t drive; and has to depend on others to take her to see her son., There aren’t too many in the family willing to do that every week. He and his mom were targets to be killed.too. Thank God Conway didn’t get to them. Again, I feel for Andrew’s mom, but hasn’t Shawn paid his dues?

I don’t understand why Shawn got so much a harsher sentence than Mike. They were equally culpable. 20 years doesn’t seem fair for someone who refused to commit murder even though he was probably scared of the scum Conway too. Maybe I need more backstory on Shawn. I haven’t lived in Columbus for many many years. Can someone fill in the blanks for me on this guy?

Curious… the only reason Shawn got so much time is because he refused to testify against James Conway….(although maybe not right or doesn’t make much sense…Jimmy took Shawn in…and Shawn felt “wanted”…felt part of a family) All of Shawn’s hometown friends now all have families and careers…..too bad Shawn didn’t listen to them for Shawn to stay away from Jimmy!!!

I dont think there is such a thing called “paying dues” when you help take the life of another, yes Andrews mom lost her son. but also Andrews son lost his father. Regardless of the situation, drugs, wrong crowd, whatever. Shawns mom still gets to see her son.. Andrews mom and son will never get that chance again. So no I dont think that someone can just pay their “dues” and spend 11 years in prison… over any amount of time.. to get out and see their family, when that victims family never gets that. Its called an eye for an eye.

you are sooo right, Tiffnay! He could’ve helped stop the killing of Andrew and he didn’t….he’s just as guilty to me as if he killed Andrew himself. Just because Andrew did drugs along with Shawn, doesn’t mean he deserved to die and it’s all fine. To me, Shawn should be a lifer like the other two.. rip Andrew

AGREED!!! …Tiffnay and Teresa, ur so right…I wonder if Darlene would feel that same compassion if, God forbid, *her* family were in that same situation – I think not. Shawn, as well as ANYONE else who had a hand in this, should all be rotting in prison!

Can anyone give me info on Nightingale. Something has to be missing 4 yrs vs 20 has to be more than one guy talking to cops first. It doesn’t seem fair they seem to both have played the same role. Someone that knows please fill in the blanks on Shawn cause something isnt adding up here.

Actually, Andrew is the person to be remembered here and thought of, not those who killed him. Please think about him here. Honestly, Shawn does not really matter. Think of Andrew’s loved ones and have respect for them.
