The murder of Danette Elg was particularly gruesome. Richard Leavitt was still at the scene when the detectives arrived. He still maintains his innocence, but his blood was there, he was there and should not have been. He does not have an alibi, but recently passed a polygraph, which actually does not mean a lot, since most sociopaths can pass a polygraph. If it had been done right after the murder, it may have carried some weight, but not now. His wife testified about an incident where he did the same mutilation to a deer. Very specific mutilation. From all accounts, Danette was a happy but shy woman, who enjoyed her life. Leavitt took that away, and hurt all of her friends and family. Justice is being carried out right now as I finish this. I hope that her friends and family find some peace and only remember how much she loved them and the good times in her life.
