3 years for killing an unarmed man….Wow! Not that’s justice for the family isn’t it?

Grover,
I agree! William’s family did not receive justice. My heart truly goes out to them.

Sorry correction! Now that’s real justice for the family isn’t it?

Many of the murdered people on The First 48 are not ‘innocent people’ like the families make them out to be. They are drug dealers, thiefs and thugs. Although they don’t deserve to lose their lives, they participate in activities that puts them into danger’s way. We should be thinking about all the people in their town who will be safe because of their deaths. Harsh but true.

Are you serious? Do you know William and his family? People say Gary sells drugs and was high at the time he shot William. This was cold blooded murder. Gary just walked outside his house and shot the first person he saw. There was an ice/snow storm of epic proportions going on at the time. This made it difficult for the police to collect evidence as well. I don’t think walking home in a storm is a crime. And, Gary changed his story several times: First he said William was trying to break in his occupied house (3 people inside), then he said he saw him getting out of someone’s car and chased him down and shot him (in the back of the head) obviously William was not attacking him, or a danger/threat to him. William was running from a man with a gun trying to shoot him. Was William an angel? Probably not as most young men in the West End seem to get into some trouble on way or another. But, to be shot in the back of the head and kicked in the face while he was on the ground? Just because he was Black and walking down the street? Really?

Friday the 6th of January 2012 is the sentencing date for Gary Lindsey. With the other case he has against him he may serve more time than the three years….

Well, they led ole Gary out in handcuffs today! He gets to start the rehabilitation process at one of the fine prisons of Kentucky. They gave him 3 years without parole and when his other case is done he might get a few more years for that charge. Lets see how he holds up in prison after crying like a baby on TV when he got sentenced. No room for babies in prison….Well, there is probably a child molester in there that might like it……a lot!
