This is more than sad. This 19-year-old young man, Antoine Willis, intervened when Curtis Reed was abusing his mother, Jodi Stewart. So, what does Curtis do? He allegedly went into Antoine’s room when he was sleeping, and then doused him with lighter fluid, which woke Antoine up. Then, allegedly, Curtis set Antoine on fire. Curtis was kind enough to called 911. Antoine will have permanent damage to his face, neck and arms. He has second and third degree burns over quite a bit of is boday. Unfortunately, Antoine does not have insurance, so a bank account was started. Sounds good, huh? Well, Antoine’s uncle Jeffrey Stewart, has apparently taken more than half of the money that was donated and no one knows where he is. Now that is low, even more so for a family member to do that to him after all he has been through. Personally, I wish I could donate to Antoine’s fund, but I can’t at this time. If anyone wants to donate, you can donate to his account – The Antoine Willis Benefit – at Bremer Bank. For those not in Minnesota, I am not sure how you can do that, but I will check it out and add to this when I am able to find out.

This is sickening. How could the uncle re-victimize that poor young man when he had already been so badly hurt? Some people have no conscience.

I agree. This story made me cry and I can’t get it off of my mind. His mother has not been around since his uncle took the money. It is beyond human decency to do this to Antoine. Especially when all he wanted was to protect his mother. I hope everyone keeps him in their thoughts and prayers.

This is absolutely awful. Boyfriend from hell doesn’t cover it…

THe saddest part is that if the boyfriend was hoping to use the son to get back at the mother, it doesn’t appear to have worked.
Based on her and her brother’s actions, they care more about $$$ than their loved one.

I agree Zack. Once again, a victim that was revictimized. I still can’t get over this one.
