Bonnie’s Blog of Crime
Tonight we start off by taking a dip once more into the true crime blogosphere as I speak with Bonnie Kernene, from Bonnie’s Blog of Crime, to discuss some of the high profile cases everyone is buzzing about.
I love Bonnie’s Blog because the posts are intelligent and well-thought out and very readable. Think you will too.

Catching a Serial Killer
Then I’m talking with Jeannie McDonough, whose heroic story is told in the new book, Caught in the Act: A Courageous Family’s Fight to Save Their Daughter from a Serial Killer, written by Paul Lonardo which was recently featured on CBS’s 48 Hours. This is an amazing story.
On July 30, 2007, Chelmsford, MA residents Jeannie and Kevin McDonough were awakened at 4:00AM by strange noises coming from their 15-year-old daughter Shea’s bedroom. When they went to check on her, they discovered a hulking figure dressed in black hovering over her, holding a knife to her throat.
The book tells the story what happened after that moment. Can’t wait for you to hear what they did!

Eye Witness Testimony: How Reliable Is It?
Next, I’m tackling the touchy subject of the reliability of eye witness testimony, how it can be manipulated and what can be done to make sure it’s dependable.
I’ve got nationally-known expert on eye witness testimony Jennifer Dysart on the show to set the record straight on this … and wait ’til you hear about the gorilla in the room that no one saw! I was there and I still don’t believe it.
|
Great Personal Safety Product: The Storm Whistle
Lastly, I’ve got a great personal safety product to tell you about–the Storm Whistle. They say it’s twice as loud as any whistle in the world and can be heard from 50 feet away–through doors and walls and even under water.
On their website, they cite a young couple who was being beaten and robbed whose struggle was overheard by a nearby homeowner. The homeowner blew the whistle FROM INSIDE HER HOME and scared the muggers away. Neighborhood Watch programs anyone!!!
