- What is wrong with these people?

No, this is not appropriate. Seek help, talk, do something if you are feeling so overwhelmed that you choose to just “leave”. Sometimes parenting and domestic drudgery gets the better of me. I have a rant, I cry, I drink a glass of wine….just don’t leave the children. How she did that is beyond my thinking.

It’s beyond your thinking because you aren’t a drug addict/alcoholic. I know that she is because I am her sister-in-law and I know that she is mentally and spiritually sick. I know that because I’ve been there. None of that justifies her abandoning her kids, but if you have any personal experience with addiction, it shows how far her disease has progressed and it is heartbreaking for her, her children and the rest of our family. I’m sad to report that she was found safely January 30, 2010 but she disappeared again in June 2010. God be with her.

Michelle,
I am so sorry about your sister-in-law. I hope she is found soon.

Thank you. Please pray for her because she really needs help. I hope we find her before it’s too late.

She was already found alive. She just did not want to go home.
