  1. hmm…

  2. Wow, I’ll look forward to reading the updates on this on your blog. If he is guilty, then it is crazy! Imagine if one person did just beat their entire family to death? Part of me hopes there were more people involved.

  3. It’s hard to imagine one person wreaking so much havoc, but I guess there are some drugs out there that will do that to a person. And he sounds very out of it on the 911 tape, even for someone who’s in shock. With the investigators not talking, stating that they want to be sure they get it right, and the public announcement that this is the man…

I haven’t heard anyone suggest any motive, though, other than some court settlement of 25000$ That might get you to Mexico, and give you a nice life down there for a while, I guess, but then why kill the entire family?

  4. Remember, this is a very poor family. $25,000 is a lot of money to them. I hope that is not the motive, but still it appears to be to me.

  5. I know that’s the only suggestion so far, and tragically, families do fight, tooth and nail, over such things, even fighting over inheritances before the corpse has cooled.

But I have 2 problems with that theory: 1. Let’s suppose that he couldn’t just grab the money, but had to fight his dad or someone for it, and killed that person, or persons. At that point, why go on to kill the entire family, even the 3-year-old and the down’s syndrome kid? Or do you think he planned to get away with it and then inherit the money?

Second, let’s assume that, yes, he killed his entire family for the 25,000.00. Then why not take the money and run for Mexico? Why stick around to report the crime and lie to police and arouse their suspicions by hiding a shotgun in his car.

If he wasn’t out of his mind on drugs, he was just out of his mind, it makes no sense.

Maybe he really is innocent. The chief of police sounded confident, but we still don’t know why. Just that new, and contradictory, evidence came to light.

  6. The 3-year-old is still alive, I think. I ought to have said, ‘tried to kill’.

  7. He would not have been able to physically get the money yet. It would have taken time. His father just won the lawsuit. I don’t think he had the money quite yet. I think he planned to just inherit it. My opinion.

  8. I am really interested in why no one heard anything. Who’s shotgun did he try to hide? How could he overpower that many people? Was the family drugged? If he is innocent can you imagine being put in jail after finding your whole family dead.
There are so many things about this crime that do not make any sense. I really hope that he did not do it. It is just so hard to believe.
I live in Brunswick and it is scary that something like this could happen. It makes me sad for the town I love.

  9. I don’t think there was any motive. The little money Mr. Heinze was to receive was under appeal. Who knows if he had a will or who was named.
There is a whole lot of room to doubt that Guy Heinze was the person who committed these heinous acts.
I think the real killers are still out there and the exact motive is unknown.
