  1. Well, I hate to say this, but by looking at Randall’s picture, is it really a suprise that he killed someone? He looks like a thug with an IQ of a pig. So sad that this cute girl lowered her standards and actually got engaged to this low life. She looks like she had much more going for her & once again, toxic love got in the way.

    Rest in peace.

  2. I find this very very had to believe. Randall is my cousin’s best friend and I find it very hard to believe that he did this, while in his right mind. I’ve not seen Randall for about 3 years but the man that I know is not this type of person. Please remember that he is innocent until proven guilty, nobody knows the circumstances surrounding this case.
That being said, I am sorry to hear about the loss of anyones’ life and my thoughts and prayers go out to Allison’s family and friends.

  3. Nope, this animal did it. He shot her in the back of the head. then dupmed her lifeless body in a plastic drum and dumped her in a field.

He also was charged 2 weeks ago with assault with a deadly weapon WHILE IN Tulsa cty Jail. This guy will fry..fucking scumbag

  4. I just found out about Rebecca from the parish priest I worked under in Oklahoma. I was so saddened about Rebecca. I was her 4th and 5th grade teacher and she was a bubbly wonderful young lady. May the angels take her into paradise and may the boyfriend rot in HELL. Gayla if you read this I just found out from Father Daigle. It is Nov. 28, 2009. I am so sorry and please accept my late condolences.

  5. I went to school with Rebecca in 3rd and 4th Grade. Sister Mary Bridget was our teacher. She was my little 3rd grade girlfriend. She was a sweet and funny girl with great parents. I just found out today of her passing. I know her parents are still going through court battles with this scum today. I will be praying for them and it is sad that such a wonderful young woman’s life was ended so shortly. I hope he has to live in misery with what he did.

  6. So . . . believe it Kay, whom responded in May of ’09, HE DID IT! And Jay, Sept. ’09 response, it was not in the back of the head. The bullet entered in her right cheek and exited at the back of her head on the right side. And he had the gun less than 2 feet from her face. You are right about one thing, Jay. Wagers IS an animal. And now he will be forever behind bars. I just finished serving as a member on the jury that saw to it. Debbie, let us say that ‘life in prison with no possibility of parole’ will be his HELL.

To you, Rebeccah, and your parents – Mike and Gayla, I am honored that I was able to help in the “Search for Justice.”

    • Kelly,

Thank you for this update! And thanks for helping with justice in this case.

  7. A jury has found Randall Wagers guilty of 1st degree murder and recommended life without parole for murdering his fiancée Allison Castaldi.

  8. I am disappointed to see that one of the jurors has choosen disrespect the jury system by making such comments about their case and their service.

I also wander who it is that Kelly found this blog and story so fast after the verdict was returned. The verdict was announced in open court at 1:30pm. Then the jury met for a while with the judge. And by 2:46 pm Kelly had already found this website and posted her comment.

It seems like Kelly might have been doing a little internet research prior to the verdict.

    • Kevin,

As for the time, the blog is in MY timezone, not theirs. And jurors often discuss the case after the fact. It is very legal and there is nothing wrong with it. In many cases, there is a news conference with them afterwards. I have seen jurors for many cases on shows like 48 Hours Mystery. Why is this disrespectful? What is wrong? And if you are the attorney that is attached to the OK Bar Association with that email address, then you already know this. Why would you be posting here instead of going to the Judge?

  9. With so many having email on phones, I can see a person “googleing” this case… I sat in on the trial and by 3 pm, had googled it myself. It was all over the news by then already.
High profile cases tend to make waves fast. Does not suprise me. I don’t know how you sleep at night Mr. Adams.

  10. You know what I am Randalls friend from years back and this is not like him! He was so sweet and WOULD NEVER intentionally lay and hand on a woman! This whole situation has brought me to tears not only for him but for the victom and her family. I had met her once when they came up to ohio to visit! I am on Randalls side! May this case Rest In Peace!

    • Rebecca,

I hope you understand, but people (including me) will take offense to you saying “I am on Randalls side”. What a way to have sympathy for the victim. If you need to pick a side (which is silly anyway), it should be the victim’s side. She did not deserve to be murdered, regardless of your friendship with Randall. The victim is who is important to remember here. Have some compassion for her loved ones. How will they feel when they read the you are on his side, and obviously don’t care about the victim? Unless you were there, you cannot be sure of what happened. Never EVER blame the victim here. It is insensitive and heinous, to say the least. She did nothing, as you seemed to try to imply, to deserve this.

  11. ok first off I do have sympathy for the girl and her family so get over yourself. and I have my friends backs no matter what! What would u do if u just found out that ur friend was in Jail for MURDER? i do not know the whole story and only God, her and him will. So PLEASE I am not picking any sides but I am sure not going to not support my friend! ok. thanks for ur not needed input! LOL! people like u kill me! get over yourself and quit judging ppl!

    • Rebecca,

All of my friends and family know where I stand on murder, and most of them have the same stand, especially since my mother and also a sister-in-law were murdered (different circumstances, not related). They know that I would always fight for the victim. I would support them as my loved one, but I would never condone their behavior nor would I “side” with them. Case in fact, my brother tried to kill his wife. He is in prison, where he belongs. He only got 14 years and still will not take responsibility for what he did to her and his daughter (he did this in front of her). I still love my brother, but I do not condone what he did. I still love my sister-in-law (now technically ex) and my niece and always will.
So, get down off of your high horse and remember that it is the victim that is still and always will be the most important person to remember. You should always love your friend, but remember not to blame the victim ever. She did not deserve it. At all.

And if you don’t like my opinion, that is fine with me. But remember this, what if you were murdered or your child, and everyone blamed you or your child and had more sympathy for the killer? Great legacy huh? However, I would fight for you in that circumstance.

  12. Rebecca. I am the victims cousin. Poor Randalls friends all turned on him and testified AGAINST him in court. Maybe you should look at the evidence in the case, not to mention Randall admitted he killed her in cold blood. If you do not know the whole story as you say then maybe you should not post here until you do. If you read the court transcript you will find Randall deserves nothing but the death penalty. The only peace I have is that he has to meet his maker one day. He is nothing but a waste of a human being in my book.

  13. Wow. I have not come back to this site since I posted my first comment a mere 2 hours after Wagers was convicted of ‘Murder in the First Degree’. It is interesting to see the -how should I say this- STUPID ASS COMMENTS that some people have to say.

First and foremost, KEVIN ADAMS, I would encourage you to proofread and, perhaps, even spell check your comments. You are obviously an idiot. As a jury member, I did not “choosen disrepect the jury system”. Quite the opposite, I was very satisfied that I was able to help serve justice FOR the jury system. And as for you “wander” — where are you wAndering? An opium field, perhaps! On the other hand, maybe you were “wOndering” how it was I came across this blog so quickly. Do you suppose it could have been that as soon as I ‘googled’ Richard Wagers/Rebecca Castaldi – one of the sites that popped up was the ‘Bonnie’s Blog of Crime’. Duh!

An additional sidenote I would like to present to you, KEVIN ADAMS, is that it took us, the jury members, less than 2 hours to determine that the ‘defendant’ was GUILTY of such a horrendous crime. Regardless of the time of ‘announcement’ and that the jury members met with the judge afterwards, the fact still remains . . . WAGERS is still a KILLER and an ANIMAL. Which brings me to wOnder what your point is for your comment. Did you hope to call for a mistrial? I would say that is just another piece of evidence to prove your ignorance. (As if your misuse of the english language wasn’t enough.)

Now, as for your accusation that “Kelly might have been doing a little internet research prior to the verdict,” kudos to you for spelling ‘might’ right. But, really, I don’t have time to research anything, let alone something that is so painfully obvious. When I did finally google the ‘murder’ after the trial and verdict was over, it was more of a ‘closure’ thing for me. But closure is no friend of mine in this circumstance. I still see Rebecca in everything I do. I see a young woman at the store, or working in a flowerbed in her yard; I see her in a car driving down the street; I see her in the park playing with her children. I am constantly wondering what she may have been like; what she would be like now; and what she would have been like in the future. At first it was every day. It is not so frequently now, but the torment I feel does not go away. Seeing pictures of her face with the bullet hole in her cheek. Pictures of her body stuffed in the bottom of the barrel. Seeing pictures and hearing details of how remote the location in which WAGERS discarded Rebecca. Listening to how he custom made a metal box to weld the gun into and throw it into a pond. Hearing how he threw Rebecca’s cell phone out of his car window as he was driving down the highway. I can go on, but I will stop the gorry details with this question to you, KEVIN ADAMS . . . “How could you possibly say to me, and the rest of the viewers, that you are ‘disappointed’ to see that one of the jurors chose to disrepect the jury system? (I had to insert correct spelling and grammar at this point.) You should be much more concerned with the crime itself. Not the fact that a ‘jury member’ chose to attempt some sort of resolution by searching what was reported when the case was first cracked.

I had to go to the courthouse just this past Friday. All I could think about and see in my mind was Rebecca. (Then I see a young man with a T.shirt on that had the word ‘Elephant’ across the front.) I felt like the entire MURDER was haunting me. But then I saw Rebecca and her family . . . They were thanking me for helping to see that justice was served. A small price to pay for a daughter lost. A daughter that Mike and Gayla will never have opportunity to know in this physical life – ever again. I cannot even fathom such a loss. And shame on any of you whom could even speak otherwise.

    Kelly
