I will not classify this as a ‘hate crime’ as I believe most crimes are hate crimes, especially violent crimes. Think of it this way, many serial killers murder women or prostitutes because they hate women, but those crimes are not classified as hate crimes. To me, it just makes it appear that some crimes are more important to some law enforcement or prosecutors than others and put a label on them to make it appear justified. Murder is murder and one victim is not more important than another.

Even if he WAS gay, what gives these guys the right to judge? Or take someone’s life? This makes me sick. This man had children, and a family who loves him. God bless them all. I hope his killers burn in hell. RIP Jose.

José Sucuzhañay was a businessman, hard worker, a great father,a wounderfull borther, a great son and a man who was very supportive to the community where he lived”Bushwick”. Our family is very hurt by the statement, and to know that Jose will never return, especially Jose’s mother and his two kids; Jose will always live in our heart.
WE WANT JUSTICE FOR HIS LIFE.
Sincerely,
The Sucuzhanay Family.
