Everyone is suspect right now, but I do have great concern about Misty’s comments regarding the disappearance of Haileigh. There are many things I find highly suspect in this case:
1. The father locked a deadbolt on the back door that Haileigh could not reach/operate – how did it unlock later in the night?
2. Child Protective services has been at the home before – for what & why?
3. The police department won’t release the results of the polygraph – why? Both father & Misty say they passed, but from interviews you can tell they aren’t very bright & I doubt they would know what passing a poly entails.
4. Why did Misty change her story about where Haileigh was sleeping?
5. Why did the father say he put Haileigh to bed before he left for work at 10 pm and Misty said she put the girl to bed at 8 pm and checked on her at 10 pm?
6. Misty is only 17 – which constitutes statuatory rape, since the father is clearly having sex with her. Why do her parents allow her to live there? What is her family background? How troubled is Misty? Who visits Misty at night? Does she use drugs?
7. The bio Mom said Misty misses a lot of school & that Misty said she is hit at home. Why does Haileigh miss so much school?
8. Why did bio Mom lose custody to Ronald?
9. How has Misty treated Ronald’s kids in past? Any witnesses to how she played the role of “Mom”?
These are just a few of the many questions I have at this time regarding this case. I think there is much more to Misty than we currently know. I’m not saying she hurt Haileigh, but I think she knows much more than she says. Judging from the 911 tapes, Haileigh’s father has a lot of anger & appears to be quick to use violence – that may be a factor why Misty is afraid to share what really happened that night.

When a Child is Kidnapped – the police need to block off the Area Right Away (the Freeways too) go into peoples houses and look for her.
We need to bring in the National Guard and the Military if we need to – that way these skumballs would be scared of being caught.
This is why kidnappers get away. I would open up my house if a child was missing – it’s not pleasant – but we have to be drastic – Searching every house in the area – Yes even at 3:00 am in the morning. (and if they won’t let you search the house watch it and wait for a search warrant) The safety of our children is priceless.
It has to be someone who knows the father worked Nights, and got home late. What about the guest in the fathers house the night before (Girlfriends Brother / Air Conditioning Guy) maybe one of them Unlocked the Back Door to gain access.
This is shameful that our children can get kidnapped in their own homes (and get away with it) – Penalties for Child Rape (when DNA prooves rape) at this age should be Straight Death. That would decrease the Crime significantly.
We as Adults must protect our Children (who cannot protect themselves) It was somebody close.

i cant help but notice how nervous misty was on tv smokeing her cigarette. I keep thinking about how mistys dad felt about a grown man being with his 17 year daughter and hearing that misty and ronald have been together for a while i asume she was younger than 17 when they hooked up.The expression eye for an eye is erie but running through my head . Now i dont know if this man is alive or even in mistys life but under these sad conditions it is worth looking into. Just so the family knows i am not pointing fingers, just heart broken that another child is missing. To the mother of Haleigh i cant emagine how you feel but please try to stay strong and eat and drink so that you will think as straight as possable to find your girl you guys are all in my preyers. My last request is that evry person that is asked to take a polygraph please do so so that you will be took out of the picture of being a suspect and the sob that is responsable for Haleigh being missing will be 1 step closer to beimg caught. I wouldnt focus too much on the age diference between the GF and Haleighs dad, unfortnately too many young girls rather play house in order to get out of thier own home. I believe in FLA. she is of legal age to marry. Educationally the opportunities may not have been aval. for these 3 young people(mom,dad,gf)but I really hope the public doesnt judge them for thier short comings. Remember Casey Anthony? Fortress of lies from very educated people and one dead child.

Mark my word. The mother did it.. She is not the grieving mother. She is fake and has not taken lie detector test. She knew her ex would not be there and probaly had a key or had access to be in the home and had a chance to either steal a key or get a key to make a copy. She also knew the screen door would make a bang when closing and propped the door knowing she would be holding her daughter with both hands and did not want the door to bang. She is the one.. Mark my word. She wanted her daughter back and did not want her ex to have her daughter with a live in 27 year old girlfriend.

That sounds like something a 17 year old would do. Mothers have instincts about things when it comes to their children . The mother knows something is not being said. I feel so bad for the mom. Maybe misty had someone there that night while the dad was at work and he unlocked the door. Just maybe the person who was there had it set up for someone to take Haleigh while they were playing around or what ever they were doing.Another thing that seems oh so possable is, what if misty had someone there while the dad was at work and Haleigh awoke to find another man in her dads house, misty knew the little girl would tell her daddy so they??????????Just a thought

That’s very possible. I have three kids of my own. Two 2 year olds, and an 8 year old. And I couldn’t dare think of what this mother is going through. I’m sure the father feels just as bad, I can’t really decipher his feelings yet.

With no evidence being found, I presume that Haleigh’s is most likely dead. I don’t believe Misty Croslin – I think she knows much more than she is saying. Ronald is too controlling & she appears afraid of him. Her story has changed several times & we don’t know the results of her polygraph. All we know is police are coming back to interview her & Ronald again – he should be in the clear given his work alibi that was confirmed. I doubt the Bio Mom had anything to do with it. She doesn’t appear to be too smart either & if she abducted Haleigh, she would have left fingerprints. Also, the family just recently moved into the trailer home, do I doubt the bio Mom had keys. She was in a custody fight with the father & lost. It just doesn’t add up to her taking one child and not the other. I think Misty is the key – hopefully, police will separate her from Ronald & interview her at police headquarters. That’s what I would do if I wanted to try and get her to crack.

This retarded girlfriend has something to do with this. I know it is possible for a child to be taken from her bed, especially with an irresponsible, ignorant, redneck teenaged girlfriend “watching” her, but something is just too fishy here…
Here is what I find interesting; when a child is missing, a lot of the time the baby is only a few houses away. When a child comes up missing, police should be able to check inside each and every home without a warrant. If people don’t like that, then maybe we should all get together and try to put an end to child murderers, abusers, molesters, abductors, etc. I, for one, cannot take much more. Bunch of freaks!!!

Shauncey – I totally agree! Misty is the key to Haleigh’s disappearance. The police have to get her alone & grill her – no mercy. Now they have leads that Misty might have been gone for a time & left the kids home alone. If this is confirmed, you can bet Misty is going to get a beat down from Ronald. This girl is playing with fire.

I live in St. Augustine Florida which is about 50 miles from where Haleigh lived in Satsuma. I also lived in Putnam County for two years (although in Palatka) and It was kind of scary when I lived there.
I really hope that Haleigh is found safe, but it’s been 8 days and things aren’t exactly looking too positive.
I’ve been really busy as of late but have read a few articles and the stories do seem to not exactly add up. I wouldn’t exactly rule out that father or girlfriend had some involvement, but I also think that the Police should keep searching other leads because there are alot of sex offenders and the like who have kidnapped little girls here and elsewhere from their own home.
It’s just the fact that she was in such a close proximity to the Babysitter that troubles me. I mean it’s not impossible that she slept through it and didn’t notice, but it sounds really far fetched. I also just read today that the Police recoverd the shirt that Haleigh was supposedly wearing and now they don’t beleive she was wearing it when she dissapeared. I really hope they find her. It’s so sad and Haleigh and her family our in my thoughts and prayers.

They live in a lower Socioeconomic scale than most of us, who are blessed to be where we are. Also, cultures in these parts of our great country are much different than we are used to. Everyone of these people are cooperating with authorities, according to the police in charge of the case. My heart goes out to them for the loss of this precious baby girl. I pray that she is found. Also, education and socioeconomic status has nothing to do with one’s love for one’s child, as seen with Miss. Casey Anthony!! Give this familoy a break, if they are guilty of anything it will all come out in the wash.

I have heard no talk of searching her cell phone calls. i think if they do some probing into this 17 year olds cell or computer life there is a good chance they would find that calls could have been made at the time she says she was asleep. computers as well. and she says somthing that realy peaks my intrest. misty says she turned the light of in the kitchen. but it was on when she woke to use the bathroom. so child abducters that know they will get capital punishement if caught now go in this house turn on a light that they just happen to know where it was. this is a huge screw up. not even a petty thief would dare turn on a light in a house he was not supposed to be in. just a thought.

I dont see anyone beeing mean! People are venting the fact that Misty is lieing and it tends to make people mad. I live in a treylor and see no problem with that however, A big old house on the hill would be nice. Back to the point, Haleigh deserves for people to be mad about her disapearance! I have 3 kids and i know wear they sleep every second of the night! It wakes me when they cough, sneeze, go to the potty, get in my bed, get out of my bed, get a drink of water, or sigh in there sleep!!! If my kids change clothes 3 times a day i know what they have on. My back door stays locked and we all know they dont unlock themselfs! A person takeing a child wont flip on a light switch! H as it been finger printed? You dont want to make noise so you prop the door open but you turn on a light !!! dont think so. If she checked on the kids at 10 and she remembers what time you would think she would know the bed and room Haleigh was sleeping in!She went to the restroom and came back to see Haleigh was gone but she did not call 911 till ronald made it home ? ya got to be kidding me ! No child that does not sleep walk will wonder off out side at night. Misty knows what happend!!!!! That poor poor child

Karen, you mention mean words and economic status… have you heard these people speak?. the girlfriend is 17 years old!! maybe old enough to be a babysitter part time, but not a care taker for small children on a full time basis, one of dad’s recent statements was” how you allow my daughter to get “stole” what is that all about, this does not add up, sicko’s in the area have been questioned. and nothing, somebody better look at that girlfriend, she is immature, un educated and has changed that story a hundred time or so it seems, what strikes me is how un emotional the grandparents seem to be, when they are interviewed, they are so “matter of fact”.. does anyone else see that. I am not trying to be mean, it just grinds me to listen to these good ole boys who don’t seem to even have a clue as to the severity of what is happening.. the longer it goes, the worse this could turn out, this is so sad.. Delanie- I agree with you about Casey Anthony. I am sick of watching turning the channels to hear the same news day after day when Caylee has been found and unfortunately dead. You are right; there is nothing that we can do to bring that poor child back.
In my opinion, the media needs to get off it, move on and try and devote some of that air time to other missing children like Haileigh and Adji Desir who is a little boy with special needs and has the mental capacity of a 2 year. Why is it that you hear about this one time and nothing else? Maybe Haileigh and Adjir have been publicized a lot in FL, but I am in Northern VA. To find updates on Adjir I have to Google, to hear the same crap about Casey’s stinking habitual lying butt, I turn on the TV any time, any where. The media needs to move on from Casey and concentrate on the children that may still have a chance….
In regards to the comments about Haileighs people being poor, and ignorant; You can be dumb as a bag of sand and not have a pot to piss in nor a window to through it out of, that does not mean you are guilty of a crime, any less deserving of media attention, public sympathy or does that constitute blame you that your kid is missing because you cannot afford a house with a sound structure and a ADP system.
I think that Misty is a little fishy, but as of now I do not questions Ron’s intentions or involvement with Haileigh’s abduction and do not judge any of them because they do not articulate and do not have an extensive vocabulary. That does not mean anything; they are people that love and feel the same as those with a lot of money.
I am convinced that IF Misty story is true somebody needs to take a hair sample, blood test, something and find out what kind of drugs she is using that would make her sleep that hard. There is not way is hell. I do not see how it is possible for someone to sleep though that sober! I am a mother of 3 and I know when my boys get up to use the bathroom at night.

I don’t want to be misunderstood. What I meant is where they live, whether it be the ghetto, a trailer park or the suburbs, it shouldn’t matter. How much money dad makes should NEVER be an issue. Even dad boinking the underage girlfriend/babysitter (though illegal) doesn’t mean 10 damns to me right now. What should be top priority right now is finding out who/what took Haleigh. I don’t blame dad for a single curse word I heard him say on that 911 call. He wants his baby. My gut is telling me dad has NOTHING to do with his daughters disappearence, but his girlfriend DOES know whats going on. She ain’t “chain smoking” for no reason.

Why are we not considering the lifestyle of these people? A 17 yr. old living with a 25 yr. old man – and both come off as dirty white trash! I have to agree with Jeff. Something has not been right about that bio-mother from day one. She has been adding a photo around her neck a day and mostly sits and rocks with her eyes darting all over. Now, she’s adding crosses around her neck. I believe her and her mother are feeding those stories about the father and the girlfriend. Something is just not right there. They love the media far too much in the manner of the Casey Anthony’s mother. I am always suspicious of that type of behavior. I’ve worked in prosecution and have seen it all too often.
Sadly though, this little girl never had a chance in that environment. It appears that there never any truly good relational environment for that little girl to live. She should have been placed for adoption long ago. And I disagree that those three could not receive an education. They had the same access everyone else had. They chose another route, for whatever reason. People should have to pass a test and receive a license to raise kids. Too many cases in point in recent months. The poor innocent little ones suffer for “rights”.

These are some of the most intelligent theories! I feel like the police should go over some of these to get a clue! I wonder what would need to be done to get a bill passed where every home and person was searched until missing children were found. I agree that it would be a privacy invasion but if it were my little one I would be leading the raid. We need to do something to stop this sort of perverse crime against children. People get away with it though! Isn’t that mind blowing? Well blow up an entire country over a dispute but won’t enter a single house to find these babies until it’s just too late. Makes me think more and more about GPS on children. I can’t find much on Haleigh anymore. I hope we don’t have to wait years to find out what happened. I’m sure it’s too much to hope that the bio mom took her and stashed her somewhere safe. Like someone said though, she wouldn’t leave her son. I wouldn’t.

its clearly that if the father had a deadbolt put in then he musta had a key and if he said he was at work when the little girl went missing than maybe he gave a friend the key so he could get rid of the girl and not get caught or in trouble for the kiddnapping!!!!!

I was thinking the same thing no one has mentioned haleigh cummings in very long time so sad. my thoughts on this as well is that the young girlfriend has very much something to do with her diappearence , and dad is very dumb. the girlfriend is only what 17? wow usually at the age you are very immature, jealous , very irresponsible and not ready for a true, healthy, older relationship. they both look dirty, unstable he needs to get his head on straight and shake the hell out her to get the truth out of the dirty bitch. sorry for language this all makes me sick …..theres no remorse from her please someone find her safe and sound { but… by now its been too long im sure shes with the angels god bless her} i hope misty reads these because what comes around goes around but 10 times worse you are a sick sick girl what did that little girl ever do to you ? what she was smarter , prettier, what daddy oops i mean your boyfriend showed more affection to his daughter? may god strike you down hard! no one cares about you now tell the cops where u put her. im sorry but i have to go to a smaller level and just say this ” misty you are nothing but a tralor trash whore”! i hope to god the father had no take in this !god bless all your souls who are part of this…….

This heartwrenching case is tearin me apart as all missing childrens’ cases. I am so sick to my stomach and fed up with this continuous cycle of crimes against our precious children. I agree, door to door searches, the closing down of roads and freeways- drastic is far better than a child being hurt in any way.

Misty didnt call 911 because 5 minutes after she noticed her missing Ronald came home then Ronald called.Is there a book out there that says how a person is suppose to act under these circumsatances ? do you know how you would react ? the other guy whos daughter was kidnapped and killed everyone said he was guilty too. and to find out she was kidnapped dont judge other people we really dont know.

What other guy? There have been A LOT of children go missing or have been kidnapped, so your statement is way to general. I have no idea which father you mean. What State?
Personally, in the middle of the night if my child or one I was watching was missing, it would not take me 5 minutes to call 911. I would have already called. It is amazing that you are defending her (at least that is how I get it since your comments are hard to read, being one long run-on sentence. Punctuation is your friend remember). All signs and evidence point to her involvement.

I’ve read all the peoples comments and found that the only ones that got it right was Jeff and Elaine. I watched the law infocement and media working the case and was puzzled that they couldn’t put it all together until they found the remains of that beautiful little girl. Congrats to you both Jeff and Elaine for your proffesional instincts.
