There is absolutely no valid excuse for this. Maria is 25 years old and knows that leaving a newborn in freezing temperatures would not be exactly the best idea of what to do. It is obvious that a newborn cannot protect itself from the cold. This poor newborn is lucky to still be alive. She is now charged with:
reckless endangerment of a child
abandonment of a child
endangering the welfare of a child
Why won’t these parents learn what the Safe Haven laws are? They can resolve this without trying to kill their newborns! And no questions would have been asked and face no arrest and jail or prison time. I hope that she does indeed get jail time at the very least. And let her sit out in the freezing cold with very little clothing on and see how it feels.

I’m not here to judge anyone, but she could’ve easily just anomonously dropped the kid off at the hospital, or given it to her childs father, or her father, or her mother, or a stranger, or something.

Even my grown and married children with children of their own, think It’s time it should really require a license to have a child. And that means for every addition too. Just because you have the equipment to start a life doesn’t mean you are fit to be a parent. You have to meet certain conditions to put a car on the road and a child is a lot more important than a car!!!!!!! And if you can’t pass the exam, they’ll be classes to attend, with refresher courses every few years until that kid is 18. Maybe we should put this on the ballot?
