OK, I will be the first to say it: Allanah Earley needs to lose custody of that poor baby right now. And why on earth would a bar let her in with a baby with her anyway? I think the bar needs to be held responsible for that as well. Apparently she left the bar and stumbled to a friends where she breastfed the baby and continued to drink. I hope her friend is the one who called the police. What was this idiot woman thinking? Yes, I agree – none of them were thinking!

This one happened in my home town of Middletown CT. The cops say Allanah Earley, 36, of 37 Fowler Ave., Durham, drank to excess at an unnamed (The Eagle Club) bar Friday while she had the baby with her. She even breast fed the baby while she drank. Police said she then began to wander in the cold with the infant.
After the bar cut her off she left, walking the quarter to half mile distance to here brother & sister-in-law’s house. They weren’t home, but fortunately a neighbor was, and he took in the cold a weary travelers. After watching her drink a bit more, the neighbor insisted on giving Ms. Earley and her baby a ride home. and staying with her until her brother returned home.
Police were also called. When they interviewed Earley, she was unable to stand upright, her speech was slurred and her eyes were bloodshot, they said.
Earley allegedly admitted to police she brought the infant to the bar and said she had seven drinks.
Earley was charged with risk of injury to a minor and police notified the state Department of Children and Families of the incident.
The woman was held on a $10,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court Monday.

I lived in Wisconsin for 2 years and was surprised to find that children could legally accompany their parents to the bar. I thought it odd that babies were put to sleep on the carpet under the pool table. It was totally legal according to Wisconsin law.
