Words escape me for a woman as evil as this. Renee Bowman of Lusby, MD was being investigated for beating one of her children with a shoe, when the 2 bodies of her other children were found in a freezer. She has apparently confessed to both deaths, as well as the child abuse of the 7 year old. That is the only good thing about her is that confession, providing she was truthful. I cannot imagine what she was thinking to put her children, her ADOPTED children in a freezer (which she said happened in February). Usually when you adopt, it is because you want to be a parent.

The day she realizes her crime and asks for forgiveness will be the beginning of eternal painful sentence. Foster children are exposed and are handed to the hands of MONSTERS!!!. These kids are ignored by the system. This has to change NOW.

Just passing by as I google for reactions about this story, it’s a horrible thing to have happened. She probably did it for the money, since she got $2,400 per month for having adopted the 3 kids.
It’s sad that stuff like this has to happen first before people like you or me start to care about the state of adopted children.

passerby, why would you ass u me that people don’t care about adopted childen? Do you know us? No you don’t and for your information I as well as others do care about the adopted children but my job and my 2 teenagers required my attention first.

Conflicting reports! Was Renee a foster parent or adoptive parent? Either way, what are these government bodies doing? Does anyone believe in their jobs or the care of people especially the children? This is totally unacceptable… These small or large government bodies need to be responsible for their authority and/or punishable. If originally foster children when did Renee have visits to check the welfare of the kids? If adopted, who gave the authority and are these parents checked? If originally, foster then adopted makes it even worse. Someone was not doing the job they are paid for. Seems like our government in all aspects are failing really do not know what they are doing. They all need to be responsible for their actions as we all…. This thing (don’t think she reserves the right to be called a woman or person is so sick – how was that not detected?)

Statistically, a great many children are abused/killed in foster homes. Some are even killed after being adopted. Some are killed by their biological parents. It doesn’t matter if the parent is rich or poor – it still happens to many children. Perhaps we should ask why so many adults abuse children. It is a problem that society has allowed to grow like weeds. Pay attention. Abuse is also going on in your own neighborhood.

What we need is a solution from top down. Perhaps we should stop allowing people to have children unless they prove they can be good parents. It is all so very sad.

Ok. First, let’s make Ms. Bowman accountable. And let’s make the biological families of these victims accountable. If the bio. families were not abusing and neglecting their children, they would never go into foster care. Secondly, Ms. Bowman murdered these children..not the State system. As an adoptive parent, I can tell you that a thorough inspection of my home, finances, criminal history, etc was conducted. Once you adopt…they are YOUR children. Your responsibility. The state does not follow you…they have no legal right to once the adoption occurs. I think Ms. Bowman should be fried….and I wish that MORE LOVING people would open their hearts and homes to children.

AdoptiveMom, not all states that place children in foster home do a inspection and keep up with them so sometimes the state should be held accountable (not saying so for this case) and I also disagree with holding the biological family responsible.. The children were taken from one home and placed with this evil woman (monster) and she is the one who should be held accountable.

I think they should let her starve, beat her with a shoe and then take her to safeway and lock her in a dark freezer and let her feel what those children felt. I think she needs to go to death row for all the pain and suffering those girls went through. The one that is still alive will never forget her pain.

This woman will no doubt be held accountable for what she did. But do you think beating, raping & freezing her will achieve anything. I agree with adoptive mom. I am also an adoptive mother of 3 & foster parent of 12 years. We are watched under a microscope. But once you have adopted a child no one watches you. If she was recieving money then this was also a special needs adoption & believe me you don’t make money. special needs are normally at the therapist, pcyciatrist, on meds, lots of transportation etc.
this woman will be held accountable but it angers me that people assume foster parents or adoptive parents are criminals. If anyone is to blame (beside this woman) it’s the adoption agency that placed the children. It’s common practice lately for the adoption agency’s to just want to get these kids off the books & adopted, They give very little background on the children, then they are no longer responsible for having them placed again & again. far more children are hurt by bio parents or foster care & adoption of these children would not need to happen in the first place.
