Erika and German Clouet – married not even 2 months
This suspect, Uriel Perez Palacious, went on a chase with police, where he ran a red light, went airbourne, then crashed into another car, with a newlywed couple inside. He, of course, survived, but is still in the hospital. The passenger in his car is in critical condition. However, Ericka and German Clouet were both killed in the fiery car crash. He also hit another vehicle with 5 students in it, all of which were also injured. This is a tragedy that could have been avoided if Palacious had not been driving (he did not have a valid driver’s license) or if he had received prison time for his previous 4 DWIs. Now, he is charged with:
2 counts murder
3 counts intoxication assault
I certainly hope that he is convicted and sentenced to life in prison. In just a few minutes, he changed the lives of so many, especially the family and friends of the Clouets, who expected to live together in marriage for many years. This dunce does not deserve any leniency.

Man this guy must have a good lawyer. A dispicable lawyer but good at his job?
I don’t want to appear racist but is this guy a US citizen?
With a driving record like that it is likely he didn’t have insurance either which means unless everyone else had “uninsured” coverage they will have to pay their loses out of their own pockets.
This is a perfect example why there should mandatory sentencing for all DUI convictions!

man!! this couple was friend of mine and my brother’s best friend and bandmate, palacios deserves to live and pay for what he did….. he is a US citizen and that’s why he was sent free to drive again and again..also he had insurance. Please don’t waste your time thinking stupid things old man you should be caring about other things. You hope everything goes well for this killer? And not even a word of compassion for the victims? Your priorities are in the wrong place for you to be posting here. Yes, he needs some help for his alcoholism and his sociopathy, but he needs to take responsibility for it and for killing 2 innocent people. He knew that drinking and driving was illegal, however, he did it over and over. Now he needs to suffer the consequences. I bet the victims families do not feel the same as you.
Oh, and if he was illegal, that is even worse, as he should not be here to kill people while driving drunk. Get a clue. He is a dangerous, violent criminal. Maybe you want him in your town to kill more.

I feel sorry for him he will have to live with this, but he will live. The people he killed didnt get that chance, and he not only killed them but as newly weds he took the lifes of any kids they may have had, he cut a blood line sort. He did something he knew was wronge and ran also all i can say he took a life(2) and he shouldnt enjoy his even though people can adjust to almost anything and he will be able to have happy ties in jail more than can be siad about the ones he killed or thier families.

What about justice for the victims and their families? Does that not matter? It appears to be far down on the totem pole for you. From what you wrote, no one should worry about him paying the price while he is alive. He should be free to go about his business and kill more people while driving drunk. One thing to remember, I have never heard of a church (especially Christian churches) that believe it is ok to break the law and not have to take responsbility for your actions and be punished for them, here on earth. This has nothing to do with judging a person, but rather, have him take responsibility for the lives he has now destroyed.
It is obvious you have never had tragedy such as this in your life. If it had, you would have some empathy for the victims and their families.

i am a very good friend of both the family members of german and erika i am now seeing wut it is doin gto the parents .. the system has failed,and now two young people have died unecesarily.. it is beyond me that they let this young punk out of jail , german and erika had just started their life as a married couple , It was a beautiful wedding my husband and i were there. this punk will pay dearly for what he has destroyed, i dont think he should get the death penalty he should rought in prison because thats just giving him an easy way out of this ugly world

It was NOT the police’s fault that Uriel was drinking and driving. It was HIS OWN. He is the one that was trying to run from the police. And if you are his friend, why did you not get him help before this? Yes, he may have a drinking problem, but he still KILLED 2 people while drinking and driving. It makes him a murderer. It was really sad to hear what happened to the newlyweds that just started to live a new life. But I believe that everything happens for a reason. Unfortunetly it was their time to die. If god wanted them to live they would survive. We are all humans and we all make mistakes. We have also all been young and know that when we are you we never think of any consequence until the bad has occur.
Unfortuantely for Uriel he doesnt have any way out. I dont judge him or no one for their actions. I feel bad for everyone that was involve in the accident, especially a good friend of mine form high school Erika Rosales which is still in the hospital. This is an example of gods’ decision, ask yourself why isnt erika or uriel or any of the other people involved dead? Just think for a second Uriel has done so many mistakes and unfortuantely god decided to make him pay by making something bigger like this.
Well my point is that no one should judge anyone for their actions because everyone has made mistake big and small.
We should have everyone in this accidents in our prayers because they are humans and they have feelings. Uriel is a young man who needs us to pray for him. We dont know him well enough to judge him. Yall dont know what he has gone through. So please respect him and his love one and the rest of the families. Just try to put yourself in their place.

I know one of the SMU students involved in this accident, and I can easily say I have no sympathy for Uriel. I honestly feel horribly for the Clouets. I know how much pain and suffering the SMU students have gone though and how much I hurt for them, but I can’t imagine what the Clouets must be going through.
I feel sorry that Uriel didn’t get the help that he needed, but he has no one to blame but himself. He chose to drink and get behind the wheel again. He chose to drive a car that wasn’t equipped with the Interlock system he had been ordered to use. He chose to speed away from the cop who was trying to protect the public. And now, as vengeful as this might seem, I want him to pay for it. I’m glad he survived. Dying would have given him an escape. I want him to have to think about what he did and the pain he caused and how much his actions changed the lives of others.
As for this whole illegal immigrant thing… he had a driver’s license. Look at the facts. He repeatedly had dealt with cops and judges and the law in many cases, therefore he is either a citizen or a legal immigrant. The illegal immigration argument some people have tried to use is invalid. This is no “Mexican killing Americans” situation.

Here’s my point with asking if this drunken killer is a legal citizen.
LIke it or not more often than not when you see Hispanic men with multiple DUIs they are not legal cirtizens. They begin their life in the US without regard for the law and therefor feel that they are above the law. Their behavior clearly shows it as in this case.
Now don’t go crazy. Note that I sayd “Hispanic men with multiple DUIs”. Most illegals merely want to make a good life them and their families. Others merely want to come here and enjoy themselves and give a rat who they affect in the process.

If you will check out my blog and read the three part series “Death at the Front Door” or “Killed in Action” you will see that my saying that I completely understand your thoughts is not just empty words.
However, there is one thing that I have come to understand through my (family’s) season of grief. Sometimes God allows those who are ready to spend eternity with Him to come a bit early (as it relates to our finite understanding), while preserving the lives of those who are definately NOT ready.
If you don’t want to take the time to go to my blog just Google “Sgt Buddy James Hughie”. He was a remarkable and self sacrificing young (25yrs old) man. We still miss him dearly.

Some how I agree with you.
What I disagree is that people say that it was God’s will. I don’t think God wants people to die like that. i do believe the bad was out there and God took them both because they wouldn’t have survived without the other; they were ONE.
We shouldn’t put everything on God’s hands, we should also put our grain, by acting responsable.
I do believe God is helping us, otherwise we couldn’t hold so much grief.

How about the 5 students he also hit, anyone know what happened to them? And the guy is a dunce, he retracted a plea… he’s going to jail for the 2 murder counts, the 5 aggravated assaults, and the drug charges. You people call him a good person and that he needs help? He needed it years ago, before people lost count of the number of arrests he has had.
