A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story

Giving them such light sentences is almost like saying what they did was justified. Were she born a girl, I wonder if the sentence wouldn’t have been harsher. I hope now society can gain some understanding in accepting people for who they are, so others like Gwen aren’t forced to endure such hellish lives.

They change facts in the movies to protect the people that were involved. But, for the most part, it was dead on. I saw the docudrama “A Girl Like Me” and thereafter read the case online and there weren’t too many things off from the real story.
