Ingrid Rivera murder 8/5/2008 New York City, NY *Syed Rahman confessed to killing her at rapper Lil’ Kim’s birthday party at Spotlight Live club*

               Ingrid Rivera

So far everyone seems to be focusing on Lil’ Kim (it was her birthday party) rather than the victim. It is sad that people want to focus on her rather than Ingrid Rivera. Most of the stories I found had Lil’ Kim’s picture rather than Ingrid’s, so I skipped many of them. This should be about the victim, not a celebrity who was having the party. So far I don’t see that she has even come out and spoken any words of sympathy to the victim’s family and loved ones either – however, I could have missed it if she did.

Agreed, there is just way too much focus on Lil’Kim in this. I can’t imagine what Ingrid’s mother, her family, and loved ones are going through right now.

I am approximately Ingrid’s age (I am 23) and have worked and gone to many clubs. Sometimes the bouncers are much worse than the patrons and they simply can not be trusted. Most bouncers are alright but many are power hungry sociopaths. Many abuse their power and don’t care who their victim is. It’s horrifying to think how terrified she must have been in her last few moments of life.

  2. For REAL! Says:

I encountered a bouncer that tried to take advantage of me in my inebriated state. Him trying to fondle my breast led to me biting his hand, which led to me being thrown out of the club….which of course included no one believing my allegations of his assault. LADIES: PARTYING ALONE IS NO LONGER AN OPTION!

  3. Jay Says:

My condolesences to her family. It is a shame that young lady had to die like that. Those bouncers that work at clubs like this are partly responsible for her death because their jobs are to not exits people that are not acting in congruency with the rules and regulations of that club but to also look out for those who are inebriated esp. ladies who are frequently taken advantage of in that state. As far as that bitch ass bartender he deserves whatever he gets. With all the women in this world and esp. at the club that night he didn’t have to try to force himself on that girl. It just shows he is obviously intimidated by the opposite sex and can not communicate effectively enough to gain the appeal of a lady. In other words he has no ‘g’ and he can not take rejection. A fuckin sucker.

  4. Jay Says:

I meant those bouncers that work at that particular club and others like it are partly responsible for her death.

First of all let me give my condonlences to Ingird’s family again.
The dolphin picture at her wake really explained who she was, and i still feel the pain of seeing her with those two dolphins.
now with that let me turn my attention to the sooo called idol lil kim
    fuck lil kim.
she aint even send flowers to ingird’s wake
every damn place i read they talk about lil kim.
how about the grieve this piece of s*** kid has caused to all of ingrid’s family as well as friends.
and all of it because Ingrid wanted to bring flowers to her idol
i always knew how much Ingrid loved lil kim, but wheres the love back from the idol to the fans. she could of at least sent a representative to her wake.
Everyone is talking about the way she was drunk and alone.
Everyone gets drunk and gets out of their state of mind while intoxicated, and i cant believe someone that drinks that at least once in their life has not been at that state of mind
all she wanted was to meet her idol
Ingrid was a sweet and spunky girl
Last time i saw her she gave my brother a ride home because she said i was too drunk to drive.
Now if thats not an angel i dont know what is,
and to see people talking shit about someone that they didnt even know, and that i knew it hurts.
i hope Rahaman rots in jail, and i know deep inside that god will find a way to punish him while in there
Ingrid u will always be missed
U have changed people lives even though ur not here anymore
    God bless ur Soul Mama
U sure are gone but u can take this wit u:
“Gone but never ever ever would u be forgatten Chyna”
    We miss u
    Odie

  9. Elsie Says:

My name is Elsie. I knew China for 17 years. She was like a little sister to me. Words cannot express the pain and the emptiness left inside each and every loves one’s heart. China was a selfless person. She worried more about making sure we were all happy even if she had a problem going on in her life. She was full of life and just didn’t deserve to go that way. I work in Criminal Court where that piece of shit is being tried. I promise you China that I will do whatever it takes to bring justice for what this bastard did to you. It’s not fair mama. This has been so traumatic and life without you will never be the same. We miss you so much. I hope one day I will get to see you again. I love you so much and will NEVER forget you. You will always live in our hearts. Thank you so much for all your memories. They are what sooth me because I know you never liked seeing us with sad faces. For now, Chinita, but I will see you one day. I WILL FOREVER LOVE YOU!!!!

  10. Ingrid Estrada Says:

Thank you for all the kind words. I am the mother of Ingrid Rivera. She was a wonderful daughter, wonderful friend, and wonderful sister. She was a very happy person, this is why I know she is in heaven. God Bless all of you, and take good care of yourselves.

  11. Fatima Says:

I knew China[ Ingrid] for almost all of my life. I remember her the most for being happy and generous towards others. My family knew her since she was 5 years old. They remember her for loving her life. What happened to her was not something that she deserved and was something so unexpected, that it seems unreal to all who knew her. The person who killed her, not only ruined his own life, but affected everyone who knew her. H broke so many hearts. I have heard a lot of people say that she was dumb to have gone to the club, but im sure that she never expected this to happen to her. It’s sad how quick a life can be taken and how quick other lives can be destroyed. All I can say, is god bless her family and that the memories she left behind are memories that we wont ever forget. R.I.P.
