I am totally sickened by his defense attorney’s statement: “He led us to the bodies. He wanted to give something to his kids, some kind of closure”. Are you freaking kidding me?? He murdered poor Nina, and led their children to believe that she robbed his company AND simply left them all. Then the media staes that “the police were nice to him”. This makes me sick to my stomach. RIP sweet Nina. Finally, your family has some closure.

I do agree, however, I would rather that her body be found than to not agree. I still doubt he will ever be released as his sentence will be 15 to life. That only means that he has to serve at least 15 years and he can stay til life. Which is what it should be. Life. But at least her family can have some peace.

As someone who knew both Nina and Hans Reiser, I am relieved that he finally admitted to what we all knew. The second I heard of her disappearance, I knew he killed her, there was never any doubt in my mind. It is quite sad that his children will grow up without a mother and knowing that their own father killed her. My heartfelt condolences go to Nina’s family. Rest in peace, Nina.

I saw Hans on the news this morning saying he killed beautiful Nina because she had Muchausim by Proxy (parents who fake illness with their children for sympathy and attention) I have dealt with these types of parents before. Just looking at the news clips of Nina, I VISUALLY saw no characteristics to back up Han’s accusations. Muchausim mom’s are normally hanging around a hospital or at home dreaming up more bs to make their children seem sick. They’re not jumping on trampolines with their children, running and playing with their children, having big birthday parties where EVERYONE looks happy.
So it wasn’t enough that this sick asshole/creep killed her a buried her body, making her children think she left them. He has the fucking nerve to bash her character while she’s dead, at his hands. Sweet Nina, whose not here to defend herself aganist these RIDICLOUS accusations. That by itself makes my blood boil. Note** his scumbag piece-of-shit lawyer KNEW all along. How the hell does he sleep at night? I wonder. God bless you Nina Reiser. Your story has touched me, and I will never forget you.

Seems like a lame last ditch attempt to make himself look like less of a creep for killing his wife. I hope none of his family and friends bother to visit or write, since he can’t seem to stop telling more lies. If all else fails discredit the victim, whom he apparently felt wasn’t worth anything anyway. Does he think that everyone will say he was a hero to kill her and save the kids and then he’ll get out of prison? His kids have to grow up with no mom and a dad in prison. At least they don’t have to end up with dad having custody of them like OJ’s kids. I still can’t believe that happened.

How about if Hans had to stay and watch while they dug up her body and get a good look at her decomposed remains? How about if his parents also had to come watch? And then Nina’s parents could read him a list of his lies at the grave site. Probably even that scenario wouldn’t elicit much remorse out of this guy. He’s still trying to blame her for his decision to kill her.

You said it. I looked at his Channel 2 News interview again. Either this whack job is heavily medicated, or trying to play the “mental issue card”. He came across as slow and humble. His comment, “I caused her to lose her life” was just pathetic. I don’t think he has mental issues. I think he’s a sociopath.

I bet he dug the hole before he killed her. I recently buried my cat and the dirt in my part of the Bay Area is rock hard. I bet the dirt in the Oakland Hills is too.
My point is that it would be a LOT of work to dig a human size hole 4 feet deep. It would be really nervewracking to be doing that while you had a body in a bag in your car or next to your hole. I would guess that even if he routinely dug holes it would take him several hours of hard work with a pickaxe and a shovel. Without experience and a strong body it would take even longer. And he had custody of the kids that weekend, so they must have been back at the house while he dumped her in the hole. Having to dig that hole while they were alone at the house seems pretty risky since he would have been gone for hours. Maybe they were already asleep in bed and he dug the hole at night, but he would have been risking them waking up alone and trying to contact someone, before he had a chance to clean up any mess at the house.
He did a good enough job of burying her that the corpse dogs didn’t find her. Usually amateur killers don’t do such a good job.
