Erin has been moved to the Hopkins County Jail and bond set at $1.5 million. I bet she stays put for a bit! I do not believe she will face the death penalty, like the others, as she was under 18 when the crime was committed.

Whew… I was worried that this little gal would have a chance to get out in the world in a few years, where she would probably line up another dumb boy to do dumb things for her. Now it looks like she can’t even get her hair and face washed regularly.
If she thought the company was unpleasant in the juvie then I bet the adult women’s jail is a shocking experience- all that cursing and dirty stories and stuff. She can protest all she wants about being a Christian, but most of the women in there also pledge allegience to Jesus, right before they think of something mean and dirty to do to someone.

Lunchlady,
As soon as she said the word “Christian”, her tongue should’ve caught on fire.
And Lunchlady, thats for all the info you’ve put our way. Bless you.

Meant to say “thanks”

You’re welcome Shauncey. But I predict there won’t be any more news until the trials. I read somewhere that that would happen in November, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it takes longer.

she was a homeschooled “child” who didn’t stand a chance when she went out and became social. She’s a child who her father has forgiven.
July 10, 2008 at 8:09 am
Vanessa there are many more children from the public school system who commit violent crimes. Children who are homeschooled are generally more successful in life read the statistics. From what I have read Erin was not homeschooled for her entire life she was homeschooled after she got into trouble and had returned recently to public school. I prefer homeschooling at least I know my child isn’t hanging with the local trash. Some people tell me my son will have to come into the real world sooner or later. I refuse to throw him the sharks. He can join the so called real world when he goes to college because the majority of the scum and losers won’t have made it that far.

I have great regard for Terry Caffey’s big heart and his ability to forgive his daughter, but the justice system is in place to protect society. Prison time serves two purposes: it prevents more crimes being committed by the criminal which may or may not be a concern with Erin, and it helps deter others from being so disrespectful of other people’s human rights and property. People need motivation to be good citizens, and the justice system is just one of those motivations. People sometimes will only behave properly if they believe that it will cost them something not to, especially if they haven’t absorbed moral/ethical principles and have a desire to take them seriously. Some people also get a thrill out of doing bad things and getting away with it, so the risk has to seem enormous to effectively deter those people.
As for the homeschool thing, I think Erin was only homeschooled for a year or so. Indications are that she was a good girl before she fell in love, but teenagers in love can be very foolish. However I am still stjunned by how stupid, selfish and shortsighted this crime is. Even frustrated irrational teenage lust/love shouldn’t cause people to hatch up and execute a crime like this. At least three other people were directly involved in the execution of this crime and there seem to have been others who knew something was in the works and did nothing. Something was really wrong in this girl’s head, and it might still be in there. And there seems to be something really wrong in the community as well, either locally or in a larger sense.

I JUST LISTENED TO THE 911 CALL THAT TOMMY GASTON MADE WHEN TERRY CAFFEY CRAWLED TO HIS HOUSE. I KNOW TOMMY PERSONALLY AND IT BROKE MY HEART TO HEAR THAT PHONE CALL. IF ANYONE IS INTRESTED IN HEARING IT GO TO GREENVILLE HERALD BANNER AND IT IS UNDER VIDEOS.
July 11, 2008 at 6:47 am
I listened to that a ways back. Yes, it is pretty heartrending. 911 calls really give you the raw experience of the crime for the victims. As time goes by the attention is mostly on the perps.

To those who have visitied the Daily BS: Both BS sites seem to be out os commission. I hope it doesn’t mean that the sites are gone, or that SM Krause is gone….. He was having serious health problems last I heard from him.
July 19, 2008 at 10:12 am
Oops, I was wrong. The site has a new look though. A book is in the works but not by Krause.

Just because he forgave her, actions still have consequences. I’m sure he believes that.
August 19, 2008 at 10:42 am
I consider myself a Christian and I have thought a long time if I were in Terry Caffrey’s shoes. I am not so sure I could forgive the person who took my 2 sons and love of my life away from me. I know it is his blood but I think I would have to turn and walk away.

Erin has lots of opportunities to think about her family, now mostly dead. There are the birthdays for her brothers and mother, Christmas, Mother’s Day, and even her own birthday. A few months of fun times with Charlie boy and now she gets to sit sit sit in prison with all those nice ladies in the TX prison system. How tragic and unromantic.
October 5, 2008 at 7:58 am
The trial is supposed to be next month. I couldn’t find a trial date but maybe if I find a website for the the county they’re being held in….
October 6, 2008 at 10:13 pm
No luck with the Hopkins County website. Seems like they would post their court schedule somewhere but I couldn’t find it.
October 7, 2008 at 5:13 am
There is a gag order on the case, so any information is very hard to find right now.
November 7, 2008 at 10:22 am
Still no news to be found on the web. I guess the trials are still not scheduled or happening. Those “kids” have been in jail for over 7 months now.

There is a gag order on this case. You won’t find much for a while.

Finally some news. The boys get LWOP, will testify against the girls. Erin is to be tried next, on Jan. 5. I predict LWOP for her too.

Erin makes court appearance. Trial date moved to February.

No photos. Johnson didn’t appear yet. The boys have agreed to testify against the girls as a condition of their receiving LWOP instead of facing the death penalty.
Erin seems to be wearing the same clothes to court as she had on when she was arrested. Guess no one wants to bring her any new duds.

Thanks for keeping us posted. I haven’t heard anything about this case and had been wondering how Terry was doing!

I would never again comment on the choices of boyfriends my daughter may do.
That is what I have learned from this case. If they want to date loosers, who will give them up when things are rough, they may face the consequences. I won’t be my problem anymore.

Case closed! Guess the girls didn’t want to sit in court and listen to their lover boys testify against them.

I have already posted an update on this story.

Now both Charlies have had their sentencing:
http://www.kltv.com/Global/story.asp?s=9624865
I can’t help but wonder, though, about Charlie Wade’s and Bobbi’s parents who had originally said their children were innocent. What are they saying now that their kids have pled guilty and are going to be spending a very long time in jail?
