I served with Rivera on board the USS NASSAU, you could never know a nicer guy. My heart goes out to his family.

I did not know Jose but as a Federal Officer at a USP, I realize how much Jose must have been facing in his last minutes. He will forever be honored. My heart goes out to your family.

i served with my buddy on the nassau. i was good friends with jose and he had not one lick of meanest in him. why does something bad happen with someone so damn good.jose I miss and will always will remeber you.

My heart goes out to Officer Jose Rivera’s family! As a Federal Officer I pray for my brotheren and wish the family peace and blessings in their time of need. I did not know Jose but he was a brother in arms. God Bless!

My heart goes out to his family. I have been a Texas correctional officer for over 2 and a half years. And just got on with the same prison that he lost his life at. I know without a doubt that he did not die in vain!

I have been a CO for almost 28 years, I fully understand the job and the dangers that go along with it.
Im sorry for the family and there loss, Im sure Jose was a great Officer, family man and a true friend..
