I did not get to go to the search after work, but it would not have mattered, as they were turning people away by that time and the police and medical examiner were there The news will be on in a few minutes, so there should be more information. I will update again. Update 10:24pm They have confirmed that Hser was found dead in an apartment in her apartment complex and several people have been taken in for questioning. The police are having a hard time with suspects and witnesses due to the language barrier (the family and most in that complex are from Burma). Right now they are waiting for the search warrant and also a news conference should happen shortly. I am waiting. And crying. This just breaks my heart. For Hser and for her loved ones. And her parents, it is so heartbreaking. She is their only daughter. The mother has been in and out of the hospital (frm what I heard on the news). Please, everyone, remember this family in your thoughts and prayers. Light a candle for them. Update 10:40pm The news conference is over. 5 people are in custody. Hser’s body was found during a consent search of an apartment in the bathroom. The names of the suspects have not yet been released. I hope to have more information in the morning. Update 10:55pm I did find that the someone named Kyi Thein is listed at the address where Hser Nay Moo was found (472 E. 2250 South Salt Lake City, UT 84111 (801-466-3969). I DO NOT know if this person is or is not involved in this heinous crime.

5 men kill a 7 yr old girl….If this turns out to be the way its sounds I pray they get a judge & jury that sends them all straight to death row.

    It’s terribly sad story.
I know the girl’s father before they departed from Thailand. He was working as the interpreter (Karen language to Thai) for my team.
He is really nice man, I remember that he always make us laugh. And he expect to have a better life in the US with his family.
At first that I know his daughter was killed, my heart sank, wondering why such a thing happened to his family.

Anyway, if I want to tell him that we’re very sorry to hear this……. All IRC-OPE staff in Thailand are symphathetic to him.

I watched some of Nancy Grace last night and they were still searching for her. I prayed that she be found safe but this morning I see that God had other plans for her.
Family of this precious child, I am very sorry and my heart breaks for you.
    God bless you.

  5. Shauncey Says:

My God. Lavonna I watched Nancy also last night and prayed the outcome would be different this time, just this ONE time. Like you said, God has other plans for her. God bless you sweet child, and your family. You are all in my prayers.

  6. Shauncey Says:

Beautiful, beautiful child. Breaks my heart.

  7. Jon Says:

This is too terrible to describe. I was with the volunteers who were looking for her, and no one thinks that this can happen to such a little girl. The fact is, that it was the likely outcome, and we as parents need to stop allowing it. It’s time to legalize human implant tracking chips for private security use. If these were available, hardly anyone would dare to kidnap- and anyone missing could be found in minutes. We need to ask ourselves why we are not working toward this logical solution. Until we do, the blood is on all of our hands.

  9. BC Says:

I hope he does not get the death penalty … life in prison. He’ll never need a laxative again.

I found an article that tells how to donate to the family. I contacted them directly and got the info. My family will be sending a donation.

Anyone interested in donating to a trust fund set up for this girl’s family can do so by going directly to Zion’s Bank and mentioning ref. Hser Nay Moo. To mail a cheque or money order:

I agree with Jon about the chip being implanted. my son and his wife just bought a dog from the pound and the dog had the chip in him when they bought. If the animal pound can afford to put something like this in pets then why not protect our children with it as well. Imagine how many kids would be found quickly and ALIVE if this chip were in them??
Be strong and just put to death each child murderer. They must not be allowed to walk among us.

  12. julie Says:

im disgusted in this, this beautiful little girl had to go through such horror in her last few minutes of life!she probably trusted these pigs and for them to help in the search,,,,, they need to be put to death, only wish it could be as painful as what that poor little girl endured. im sure the penalties for certain crimes in their country range differently than ours……what a shame, god bless all of you saints helping in the search, that family is in my thoughts and prayers at this time. god bless you all!!!!

I am extremely saddened by this incident. I was glued to the TV ever since the amber alert, hoping and wishing she would be found safe. I am going to make my donation at Zions Bank tomorrow.

I hope people can understand their cultural differences. It was mentioned that kids at the refugee camp played freely and families were very trusting of each other. Unfortunately, that is not the case anymore.

As far as one of the roommates being involved in the search, I truly believe the roommates were innocent and that is why they were released. They lived there for over 8 months with no problems, then Esar Met arrives and lives in the apartment for 30 days and this happened. The roommates were not home at the time of the incident and for quite some time. Esar Met arrived at the home he was arrested at around 3:30 Monday, so he left fairly quickly after the incident and never returned, so it would make sense the roommates had no idea she was in their apartment. I believe the police have the right (and only) suspect, and justice will be served.

  14. teresa Says:

I hope all this people who kill kids are put in jail and endure 10 times the suffering that this child endure ,and then after a few years in jail, are put to death so they do not hurt kids any more. kill the dog end of the rabies….

  15. veronica Says:

well as for me, i feel so bad 4 the whole family, especially for the brother because they arugued and he can never take that back…. But for us people as a society, we make our children what they are.. u can’t blame it on other people showing ur kids bout the world, it’s all in the parents hands… i have five kids, and i try to teach them and discipline… and as well as LOVE them… i am a native american and i try to break the cycle and perception of my people…. i am a loving mother i would do anything to protect my kids, and that is what i am doin… it’s sad that i have to protect them by keeping them on a short leash or watching them very closely and not letting them run around the whole neighborhood or what ever…. so as i sit here and read your articals i cry, because hser nay moo was so inoccent, and she was violated in the worse way possible… but if u see the bigger picture,, that happens all over the world… in third world countries they sell their own sister or daughter to foreigners to make a life for themselves… maybe that’s how the guy who took hser’s life was raised… that’s why i say it’s how we raise our children, n how they turn out is completely on our heads……

  16. mylifeofcrime Says:

    Veronica,

The family has stated emphatically that there was no fight between the children.

  17. Mohammed Hanif Says:

There is a Burmese word – sar nar hmu – which means sympathy, consideration.” since Burmese words are not written with roman characters, the spelling may be different.
But this word are not used as name
But Karen , second largest ethnic in Burma, have their own name and meanings and poor little gal was Karen.
