I expected to see this news today, however, it still hit me badly and made me start to cry. My heart breaks for this beautiful young woman and her unborn child. And the Sheriff was also very emotional about this.
The body was charred, and the fetus was in the victim’s abdomen, Brown said, describing the scene in gruesome detail.
The fetus was developed enough that the “little hand was about the size of my thumb. The little fingers were rolled up,” he said.
“One of the things that will probably stick with me for a long time, and forever, is that little hand, the way those fingers were turned, that had been burned off the arm. That is bizarre. That is tragic. And it’s disgusting.”
Cpl Laurean left a note with his wife stating that Maria had committed suicide by slitting her throat, but that he just buried her body. However, officials are saying that evidence shows otherwise. They found blood on the ceiling of his house.
“The blood patterns were even up into the ceiling,” he said. “The blood splatters indicate a violent, violent attack.”Someone had tried to clean up the scene and even painted over some of the blood, Brown said.
Cpl. Laurean left his home on Friday around 4am, then used Maria’s ATM card and has not been seen since. There is a nationwide manhunt on for him now, but the Sheriff is telling him that he should just turn himself in. Being that he is in the military, they will turn over every rock, every stone, everything to find him. They will not just drop it. Which also reminds me that since he is in the military, he can be charged twice for this, once in civilian court and once in military court. It is not double jeopardy as the charges will not be the same. He will be dishonorably discharged as well. He says that his lawyer has told him not to talk to the police, which is normal and I expected that. However, I am sure his lawyer did not tell him to be a coward and run. And running IS a sign of guilt and can be used in court. If he does not turn himself in, then I hope some fellow Marines find him quickly. Only then can justice start.

not so much on the web r papers about maria and the scum that killed her and her baby. hope they are still turning over all the stones. is he in mexico what about the wife and her involvement? who was at the bbq? who wired $$$$ to them at western union? he had days to plan this and get away when the heat started. he is a disgrace to all the good service people in the US. the wife has been called up which means they put her back on the base where no one can talk to her. the military has a big lack mark on them because of all of this. maria got no peace on earth. let’s hope she gets some for her and her baby in heaven. rest in peace. shame, shame, shame!!!!
I still think the military has EVERYTHING to do with a cover-up. The 5 day delay of reporting her missing is just demonstrious ON IT’S FACE. Shame on them.
