Well, it quite clear, this society is sick, and frankly i understand, while countries make nuclear bombs and others create technologies which destroy the earth, what would you expect? people loving their spouses? their families? we have a sick society and we need to go back and look at what we are really up to? This is a shame that humanity is like this! ARE WE GOING TO FIND A SOLUTION? or we will just have to wait, Jesus or Mohammed or Bhoudha or other Gods to came back and reminds us of how important life is!!! I don’t feel sick, i feel ashemed and hopeless.

may God bless her children and prevent them from harm. I hope that state has a death penalty, if not, i hope his children came to terms whith the conviction and find happiness. Someone tell me how old they are and how they are doing. The most important is to take care of the survivors, they really need to have a new foundation because the one their mother created, their father took it. What a World???!!!

I dont need the Bible, which is written by men to tel me what is right and wrong. I just clicked through to this page frmo a news item and found it odd that people are preaching about God. Doesnt really make any sense to me. And thanks for the good luck in hell comment. Where God sends non-believers right? … So logically … Anyone who “works” in hell works for God? …. Look guys not trying to bait you, it just doesnt make sense to me. aybe there is a God but surely not one that interferes in our daily lives… because if he can do that …. then he should be doing a bette job. And please dont suggest that he gave us “free will” .. Cause he gave us free will, which leads to this sin which God could have seen coz he knows everything … So its all his fault. If you believe that. I like to think there is soemthing – but he isnt very active down here when you look at it.

… I hate to keep disagreeing.. but we evolved from animals. At least Darwins research is the most accurate theory so far backed up by lots of evidence. My problem again with saying we came from dust is all the other evidence. Jesus Christ himself said you must search for the kingdom of heaven … surely thinking about these things and looking for the truth is what he wanted? Is it so bad to disagree with old testatment?

Hey Fidel … I have been trying. Since I was a young child. But nothing ever adds up. The more I read about relilgion and God the harder I find it to believe. Has anyone actually read the old testament!?!?!!? God is a murderer. he kills many people, and not only that… he gets people to kill innocent people… including children.. sometimes there own. So I have a serious question that no priest has ever been able to answer…. Is God the same … or has he “changed”?? … coz I just dont know if I want to believe in a God who is obsessed with power over us and sex. Did you read what he did to the guy who DIDNT make his brothers widow pregnant?? …. he used the withdrawl method I believe. I like to think I am a well rounded person… But the old testament God wanted a father to kill his son ……. or die…. Is that OK with you guys or do you ignore it?

guys, seriously, you have a right to your beliefs i suppose..and RESURRECTION, I would love for it to be so… but honestly, you must realise that nothing can be that black or white. NIC is questioning what he has been taught, no doubt, because he hasn’t seen any of it happen. Do you mean to say that he should nevertheless accept was has been put to him without questioning it? Wouldn’t you question any other matter that you didn’t see come through the way it was supposed to? Well, any intelligent person, in the year 2008, has got to realise that what we are being taught about religion today, came about over 2000 years ago, and nothing, NOTHING in those teachings has changed! Isn’t it a little odd to you that every other principle in the world has evolved through careful research and new findings while the christian religion remains unchanged in spite of the new findings? Does that not strike you as a just a little strange? If there is one thing I have learned Gail, it is that it wont change. I came through to this site looking to read more about a murder trial. My own mother died when I was young and some circumstances were … strange hence my interest. And I find people preaching about God. I should have perhaps shut my mouth like Tif says … and that I am crazy and will go to hell … but thats always the reaction. Christians on the whole wont discuss these issues, they attack and abuse you. No wonder I dont believe. And as for answers… my search will continue I guess.

Nic, I will not tell you to shut your mouth, neither will I debate you on it. I think God is love and wonderous but I also think that he only wants us to love and serve him but if you chose not to then that is your choice.
This page is not for debating whether God is real but it is a page for the victims of crime so we should be talking about that. Don’t you think?

i always find these quasi-religious discussions hilarious! my comment was actually just lyrics from a song called “Obey The Cow-God” done by a band called Green Jello (renamed Green Jelly later on ). i find these lyrics appropriate whenever discussions about religion come up. “Who’s religion am I supposed to believe and have faith in?” why not this one. then i realize how ludicrious all religions are. bah, i’ll just stick with non-belief.

We Christians are sometimes are own worst enemies… it is not our place to judge… anyone. That will be God’s work in the end. i would argue that this is indeed a very good place to share the Christian faith. An amazing thing Christianity… unchanged now for over 2000 years. How is that even possible? How does anyone explain that away? i am not real smart but it does seem that somewhere over the past few millions of years the ’superior science’ could have proven the ‘theory’ of evolution by now? Just a thought. The concept that this intricate and ecological wonder of a world we exist in (sorta like a nuclear powered diamond bezil rolex watch) just crawled out of the ocean by chance doesn’t appeal to my small brain. The existance of God does… i have questions too… but i would rather be wrong in believing in Christ than the other alternative. Faith is both an incrediably simple concept , yet even more difficult to embrace as you try to make sense of it. Be warned… accepting the Faith of Christ will immediately bring the wrath of the unbelieving world (and the spirit of Satan) upon you. Kinda makes you wonder why it threatens so many people? Would-be Christians good luck! i think live is easier if you chose to believe in nothing… no guilt… less criticism and gobs more fun! If you find yourself thinking more and more about all this… especially as this world now skids into the book of Revelation… i suspect many will be more open to the ‘theory’ that Christ is who He says He is. One final thought… to be absent from this life is to BE with God… and that is in heaven…. and then there will be this little thing called the Judgement… won’t that be a wild time?? Oh.. and about eternity.. it is suppose to last a very very long time. Life is short… make good choices. You are in my prayers.

My friend once told me that “everyone goes to Heaven, because Hell is on Earth”. I have to disagree. 85% of the world believes that there is a “higher power”. Does that make us dillusional? I don’t think so. I have SEEN miracles happen. I KNOW that there is a God.

Step away from the brainwashing and let us all know how you are so all fired sure that you picked the right December 25th virgin birth to worship and let pick your pocket. Over thousands of years of history prior to Christ there are numerous references to virgin births on December 25.
If we are to look at the Bible in its original Hebrew, from the massoretic text, the word used there is almah. Now the nearest English translation for almah is a young woman and does not carry with it any strong connotation of virginity.
Believe what you want, but don’t get bent when others hold other beliefs and want to express them too. And don’t pray for me. Study shows those who are ill and prayed for actually do worse than those who are not prayed for.

Now there is Ricky….. wow you read from the massoretic text! I’d love to pick your brain on Christianity… you fascinate me. Yes i am sure there are lots of neat stories and legends about similar accounts from the Christian Bible.
i have heard of ancient ‘flood’ stories that exist in almost each of the early cultures. Makes you think old Noah may be for real… huh ?! i have always been like a lot of new Christians… accepting on faith but troubled by the attacks on our Bible and not having much recourse but to just endure it. Then i had the blessing one holiday season of a special slide presentation ‘THE BETHLEHEM STAR’. This incrediable research took Newton’s mathematics and plugged them into todays high speed computers. This basically allowed for the precise rewinding of time and the constelations in our heavens… couple this with known recorded events and these humble men were able to explain the miracle star sighting over little Bethlehem as well as many events of the Bible… including the hour and minute of the Christ’s last moments on the cross ( the eathquake and darkness..i.e. eclipse) !! But I wouldn’t get real hung up on your massoretic text… first December 25th isn’t anywhere in either text… real scholors know the virgin birth happened closer to late August… now the virgin CONCEPTION… yes that was around December and we Christians (just to confuse everyone) celebrate the birth of Jesus on December 25th. Not sure how strong the Hebrew reference to ‘Virgin Birth’ needs to be there Ricky. Would that really upset you if it really was a ‘Virgin birth’?
There are elements of the Hebrew faith that probably wanted to be vague on that ‘Virgin birth’ part… but now Ricky you probably know all about that… and especially the most exciting thing we Christians celebrate is Easter Sunday… that symbolizes the eternal promise of Jesus the risen Christ. Pretty cool i know… but sorry if i bored you.
Oh.. a couple of teasers … of course the Bible indicates the earth is way older than 6500 years,… there is no scipture supporting a ‘rapture’… and be aware that the anti-christ
appears first (…and sooner than later… we are in the last generation … the generation of the Fig tree!?!). Does the massoretic text address these? The Greek and full Hebrew translations do.
Of course i will pray for you all.. and me too. It is a part of my faith. Oh, please don’t believe everything you read in USA Today… i saw the same stuff about sick patients and prayer… pretty weak research. Now you take Christianity… over 2,000 years and still the same exact message… how does that happen?!! It is there for anyone who has the faith to believe ….. no small undertaking Ricky. My new friend Binguirungui …. how clever of you to make that distinction… yes Jesus was born and raised in the Jewish faith. His life was the bookmark between the Old and New Testaments of the Bible (God’s Word). And as you probably know old Bingo buddy… Jesus came to us as the Word … the Word of God (in the flesh… wow). As the Old Covenant was the law between God and his chosen people (the Jewish people) it required animal sacrifice to cover the sins of the people (the Jewish people)…. when Christ came he became the human sacrifice to allow for the forgiveness of sin for ALL men… (no more animal sacifice… ever … yea p.e.t.a.) the New Testament was the Covenant of Grace (forgiveness). That is what Jesus taught (the greatest Rabbi i.e. teacher the world has ever known… Jesus). All men can have their sins cleansed because of this spilling of Holy blood if only they believe and repent. Bing ?? Anyone else ?
Jesus really did reject the Jewish doctrine… He was the first Jewish boy to get His “curls” wet in Baptism!! (you and the guys at your temple get Baptised alot Bing?) Christ also denounced the Jewish leaders and their “temple”…. He told them that God was the Father… and he taught that He and the Father were ONE!! Blastphemy to the Jewish relgion!! That is why the Temple Leaders/Jewish Priests had him crucified !!! i really think that was a definite “club membership” cancellation” there Bingo!! The Jewish leaders hated the message and tried to kill the messenger.. only the messenger was GOD!! Opps… and to their dismay Christ rose again on Easter Sunday!!
