This Week’s Carnival of the True Crime Blogs

carnivalbonnie2.jpgIt is once again my honor to host this week’s Carnival of the True Crime Blogs. And we have some great posts this week, so I will get started. First, we have Lilo of Lost in Lima, OH. She has a very interesting and thought-provoking post on perhaps the most infamous pedophile of the day, Jack McLellan. And believe me, this is not your ordinary post about him and his sick beliefs.

Next we have a fun post from Trench of MyCrimeSpace. I thought I had heard it all about stipidity, but these ninja-wannabees take the cake. I guess their training did not work well! Over at Crimene.ws, Trench also posts the latest news on Cho Seung-Hui that was released recently. Interesting news, but sadly, not unexpected.

Next up is a fascinating interview that Michelle Gray of In Cold Blog did with retired FBI Special Agents Jon Hersley one of the authors of Simple Truths: The Real Story of the Oklahoma City Bombing Investigation, along with Larry Tongate and Bob Burkehas on the investigation of the Oklahoma City bombing.

These were all of the ones submitted to me, so then I went in search of a few good posts from my fellow crime bloggers. Of course, one of the biggest crime stories of the past few days has been the story of the murder spree of Paul Devoe III, which went from Texas, to Pennsylvania, then to NY. Two of us posted on him. CrimeBlog has a GREAT post on it called Wanted in Texas and I highly recommend it. Steve has some great insights to the story. I also posted a bit on it: here, here, here, and here. It seems like this story, unfortunately, only gets worse everyday.

From Home Sweet Home’s blog, I found a sad story about Sonia Long, a 32 year old woman who just had a baby 2 months ago and was getting a divorce from her husband. Now, all of her children are motherless and scared, after words spoken to a 6 year old one night at bedtime.

From the guys at CrimeRant is a very interesting post on the newest political figure in trouble for a sex crime, Senator Larry Craig, who suddenly now says he is “sorry for pleading guilty”. He shouldn’t. Just take your punishment Senator and go away.

Over at the 1947Project, they always have great stories on historical crime in Los Angeles and the latest one is no exception. Winnie, Minnie, and Baby Norman is an interesting story about the death of a child and the search for the mother.

And finally, last Friday John Evander Couey was sentenced for the kidnapping and murder of Jessica Lunsford. I could not let it pass without saying a few words about this sentencing.

Well, that is it for this week. Enjoy!
