This week it is my honor to host the Independence Day edition of the Carnival! We will start out with an introduction today. Texas, My Texas: An Introduction gives us Carlton Stowers of the In Cold Blog. Carlton has written several books, one of which is on my current reading list: Careless Whispers
From Crime, Interrupted we have Three Weeks Ago: Chandler Serial Rapist which is about a serial rapist in Chandler, AZ who remains at large still. Police are hoping that anyone with any information, no matter how insignificant, wil come forward.
Next we have Lost in Lima Ohio with The Story Behind Duke and this is not your average story about the infamous Duke “rape” case. A very interesting one at that.
Now we have a rather sad story from Trench Reynolds of CrimeNe.ws, Hate crime survivor commits suicide. David Ritcheson was the victim of a heinous violent attack from 2 boys just because he was Hispanic and he kissed a white girl. He did not deserve what happened to him, however, both of his attackers received hefty jail sentences, which both equal life sentences.
Next we have Laura James of CLEWS The Historic True Crime Blog, which is one of my personal favorite blogs, who brings us On The Italian Hall Tragedy, Michigan’s Worst Mass Murder, With an Interview of Author Steve Lehto. This is a very interesting interview on a Mass Murder that most people are not aware of, even those who are familar with true crime.
And I have an entry myself from my blog of My Life of Crime: Movies Based on True Stories: Desperate For Love. My spotlight in June was on Movies Based on True Stories and this story was one that took me a long time to get the real story on. But I did, and here it is.
Well, that is it for this week’s Carnival of the True Crime Blogs LXXXIII. ENJOY!
